Chapter 721
Haley stared blankly at Leonardo and spoke again, "I have a husband. I can't be with you. Ask for something else. I just want to see your face."
"It doesn't matter if you have a husband. Then be my mistress," Leonardo whispered, his lips brushing against her earlobe.
Haley shuddered.
In this place, the customs were loose, with no legal constraints. Many women, even after getting married, would still submit to the powerful. It was a common sight here.
But to her, such behavior was despicable and contemptible.
Now Leonardo was suggesting that she, a married woman, become his lover.
For this reason, she thought Leonardo could never be Ivan!
Ivan could never be so shameless.
Haley quickly took a step back. "I'm Sorry, and I don't want to see your face anymore."
Before she could fully retreat, he grabbed her waist again.
"You can't just walk away," Leonardo said, pulling her forcefully into his arms.
He smelled a familiar scent, an aroma that made his heart race. Haley's presence almost completely unsettled him.
His hand slid down Haley's back, landing on her buttocks.
Haley's face turned cold, and she kicked out, but Leonardo's large hand caught her ankle.
His hands were covered in wounds, and the rough, injured fingertips scraped against her smooth, delicate skin, sending a shock straight to her soul.
Haley felt ashamed of her reaction.
She struggled to free her ankle, but her leg was caught again. She found herself once more falling uncontrollably into Leonardo's embrace.
"Stay with me tonight, and I'll grant all your wishes," Leonardo's low, cold voice echoed, the desire in his tone growing stronger.
"No way!"
Haley swung her hand to chop at Leonardo's arm, but his arm was as solid as iron, unaffected by her attack.
Gritting her teeth, she narrowed her eyes and reached for the edge of Leonardo's golden mask.
With a slight tug, she pulled the mask off.
The first thing she saw was a scar running from the corner of his eye across half his face, hideous and terrifying.
Then, Haley froze in shock.
This face was Ivan's face!
The eyebrows, eyes, nose, and thin lips that had appeared in her dreams countless times, the features that haunted her.
"Ivan."
Haley's hand trembled as she slowly reached out to touch Leonardo's face.
But Leonardo, cold as ice, swiftly snatched the mask back and put it on.
The golden mask gleamed, hurting Haley's eyes.
Her vision blurred with tears, almost spilling over.
"Do you know the consequences of taking off my mask without permission?" Leonardo's harsh and cold words rang out again.
Haley's tears fell uncontrollably.
Ivan had never spoken to her like this. Why was he treating her this way? Why didn't he recognize her?
Why, when she appeared before him, did he treat her like a complete stranger?
Her tears fell, one by one, glistening on the carpet.
Leonardo, who had been indifferent, suddenly looked flustered.
"Why are you crying?"
