Chapter 398 Haley to the Rescue

"The tech department is requesting backup!"

In the midst of the chaos, the office was thrown into disarray.

"Miss, who are you, and who allowed you to come in?" The staff member, recently functioning as a coordinator, spotted Haley in the hallway and approached her with a frown, intent on ushering her away.

Yet, upon a clearer view of Haley's face, his impatience dissolved instantly. There often existed a leniency toward women, particularly those deemed attractive. "This is the internal domain of Vanguard Corporation. Outsiders are not permitted entry. Please depart."

Haley cast a cool glance, her demeanor unwavering. "Where can I find the person in charge of your company? Take me to them."

The staff member furrowed his brow. "At this hour, Mr. Zephyr won't entertain visitors. Regardless of your identity or purpose, kindly return tomorrow."

"Vanguard Corporation is under a hacker attack. If the hacker isn't stopped promptly, I can guarantee that all the funds in your company's accounts will be siphoned off," Haley paused briefly before continuing, "I can assist in resolving this issue. Take me to Mr. Zephyr, now."

"You believe you can solve it?" The staff member was taken aback.

When a woman possessed extraordinary beauty, it was common for people to instinctively underestimate her capabilities. This staff member was no exception; he doubted this striking woman had the prowess to rectify the situation.

"If the matter persists, it may escalate beyond my abilities as well." Haley remained composed, her calm demeanor convincing the staff member.

"Very well, follow me," he conceded, leading her toward the elevator. He hesitated momentarily, "Mr. Zephyr has a volatile temperament, particularly after such a significant incident. Exercise caution in your words when you enter... If things seem amiss, leave promptly."

Haley nodded in acknowledgment.

Though her hacking skills were not on par with Todd's, she ranked among the industry's top five percent.

She had just glanced at the technicians' screens and recognized a simple Trojan virus. The issue was that the attack was aggressive and widespread, which left the tech team on the defensive.

Dealing with a Trojan virus wasn't difficult; mainly, it was about employing the correct method.

Accompanied by the staff member, Haley ascended to the top floor. Even before entering the conference room, the resonant sound of a man's enraged voice reached her ears.

"It's just the most basic Trojan virus, and yet you all are completely helpless. The company is wasting its resources on a bunch of good-for-nothings!"

"Ms. DeRoss, you must understand—" the staff member recoiled slightly, "Mr. Zephyr spares no one when he unleashes his tirades. I'd better make myself scarce..."

Having offered his cautionary note, he pivoted and hastened back toward the elevator.

Haley stood at the entrance of the conference room, waiting for the yelling inside to subside a little before knocking on the door.

"Enter!" A man's chilly, irate voice commanded hastily.

Haley's frown deepened slightly as the voice sounded familiar to her.

Pushing the door open, she raised her gaze to behold a figure at the forefront—a man clad in black with a gleaming silver mask.

It dawned on her that this was the same man who had visited Star Technical Company the other day, seeking a partnership. Indeed, the head of Vanguard Corporation's operations in Cuenca was this very man.

At that moment, a myriad of thoughts surged through Haley's mind.
