Chapter 913
Robert was just about to get up when the bodyguard behind him kicked his knee, sending him crashing to the ground.
"I'll ask you one more time, you wanna live?" Ivan cocked the handgun.
Robert's eyes were bloodshot. "How can someone be as low as you?"
Ivan sneered. He should've been more ruthless; then Haley wouldn't have suffered so much.
He fired a blank shot and frowned impatiently. "You got ten seconds. After that, no more chances."
Robert clenched his jaw.
He could face death, but his wife and kid were innocent and clueless about his work.
Robert closed his eyes in despair. "What do you want me to do?"
"Give me a list of all of Martin's guys in Watertown. If the list is complete, your wife and kid can keep living their normal lives."
Robert lowered his head in silence. Handing over the list meant more than a hundred of his comrades would die.
What was more important, his comrades or his wife and son?
Robert gritted his teeth. "I can't remember the list clearly. Can you give me some time?"
Ivan smirked. "Sure. But first, hand over the Bio-intelligent Chip controller Martin gave you."
At that moment, Robert finally got what Ivan was after.
Robert managed the Bio-intelligent Chip company, knowing the complexities better than anyone.
Robert said, "Only by destroying the database can the Bio-intelligent Chip be truly destroyed. But the Asura Biotech Company database is known only to Martin. Now that Martin is dead, the Bio-intelligent Chip will stay in Haley's body for life."
"Destroying all the controllers will do the same," Ivan said coldly. "Where is it?"
Robert moved his fingers. "It's the ring on my right hand."
Controllers could be made into all sorts of things—earrings, rings, necklaces, glasses... anything.
Ivan took off the ring and violently dismantled it, revealing a crystal tube circuit inside.
He said coldly, "In three days, give me the list of your underlings."
He waved his hand, and someone dragged Robert away.
Inside the villa, Haley was gently comforting Angela. "The doc said it's just a small bump. It'll be better by tomorrow, so don't cry, okay?"
Angela clung to Haley's clothes and said tearfully, "Mommy, I'm just scared you'll never talk to me again."
"Mommy," Owen chimed in, "can you spend more time with us? I haven't had a meal with you in half a month."
Haley smiled and nodded. "Okay, we'll have dinner together tonight."
Keith's eyes lit up. "Mommy, do you really mean it?"
"Of course, when have I ever lied to you?" Haley smiled and pulled Todd over as well. "Todd, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made you move out of the Winston Villa. I take it back. Can you forgive me?"
Todd looked at Haley seriously and slowly asked, "Mommy, is that matter resolved?"
Haley nodded. "I'll move back today, and we'll never be apart again."
The four kids snuggled up to Haley. However, Brenda stood silently with red eyes.
She had watched Martin take Haley away, but two hours later, it was Ivan who brought Haley back.
So where was Martin? Where did he go?
She wanted to ask but didn't dare.
