Chapter 977

The one who'd drop everything to find Haley? That'd be Ivan, no doubt.

Angela watched Ivan's figure vanish at the villa's entrance and let out a silent sigh. Over the past four years, Ivan had endured the most hardship silently, while the children could huddle together, cry, and console each other.

But Ivan never showed a hint of weakness.

He was like a rock, holding them up and making them believe that Mom would come back someday.

Brussville.

The sun rose, kicking off a new day.

Odette was celebrating her 80th birthday at the swankiest five-star hotel in Brussville, inviting all the big shots in town.

Camilla showed up early with Samantha. Odette was chatting with some family members in the lounge.

"Mom, I brought Camilla over," Samantha said with a smile.

Odette smiled at Samantha but gave Camilla a cold look. "Why are you here too?"

Camilla stayed cool and handed over a porcelain teapot. "I heard you've been wanting a new teapot for tea, Grandma. I got this one from Watertown—top-quality porcelain, perfect for tea."

Sawyer Jenkins' wife, Elara, smirked. "Camilla, the best teapots come from the neighboring country. Odette's last teapot was an antique, used by a queen. If you can't get something nice, don't bother."

She was basically saying Camilla's teapot wasn't good enough for Odette.

Camilla opened the teapot, and a faint fragrance filled the air.

She smiled and said, "This teapot is made of the finest porcelain and has been used for over a hundred years. Just opening the lid releases the tea's fragrance."

She poured in boiling water, and the aroma got even stronger.

"The tea's aroma is pleasant and long-lasting. I'm sure Grandma can tell this teapot isn't just any old market item." Camilla poured a cup and handed it over.

Odette's expression shifted from disdain to surprise. As a tea lover, she could tell the teapot was special.

It was high-quality stuff from Watertown, probably used by a wealthy family back in the day.

At her age, Odette valued things with a sense of history.

"Good." Odette took a sip, and it was clear the teapot brewed excellent tea.

After another sip, Odette's expression softened. "You've got some skills, getting a gift like this."

Camilla smiled lightly. "It's no big deal."

Camilla's casual remark hit Samantha like a thunderclap.

Patrick had said last night that even if Camilla didn't find her real parents, she could still do great things.

If Camilla's abilities outshone the Jenkins Family, the events of four years ago would definitely come to light.

Camilla couldn't be given that chance! Samantha looked at Camilla and couldn't help but smile bitterly.

She had genuinely tried to be good to Camilla, but Camilla was still her adopted daughter. One day, Camilla would turn against the Jenkins Family.
