Chapter 63 Not Allowed to Get Close to Ivan
"Emily, you don't know yet, but I have opened a studio and am currently preparing to collaborate with the Winston Group." Haley's pretty face beamed with a confident smile.
She lifted her finger and playfully tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "My collaboration with the Winston Group has nothing to do with the DeRoss Group. What gives you the right to stop me?"
Emily's eyes widened in disbelief. "It's impossible! The Winston Group would never collaborate with you! Tell me, what have you done? I'm warning you. Don't get close to the Winston family, and don't get close to Ivan!"
Haley narrowed her eyes. She wondered what Emily was so afraid of, that she provoked so easily.
'Is it related to the Winston Group? Is Emily afraid of losing Ivan to me?'
Haley was already too tired to continue this argument, so she turned and walked away. In her disdainful laughter, Emily's heart shattered into pieces. Her mind went blank, acting on pure instinct.
Emily spat, "Haley, I am Owen's mother, the future matriarch of the Winston family. No matter what dirty play you mean you plan to use, you cannot take away my position."
"What did you say?!" Haley turned around, her icy gaze suddenly turning cold.
Emily realized that she had foolishly told Haley something she shouldn’t have. Her mother had told her never to mention anything about Owen and the Winston family to Haley. Emily had been too impulsive. She moved her lips, wanting to remedy the situation, but Haley spoke first.
"Emily, do you think that just because I've been away from Cuenca for four years, I don't know anything about what happens in Cuenca?" A faint smirk appeared on Haley's lips. "Owen from the Winston family is four years old this year. When I left Cuenca, you weren't pregnant."
Emily widened her eyes. “How do you know that Owen is four years old?”
Ivan protected his two sons well. Outsiders didn't even know about Owen's existence within the Winston family, let alone his age.
"I also know that the Winston family's child is named Owen," Haley coldly began. "So, it turns out you've been scheming to be a stepmother to another child."
Emily's heart sank a little. She had no idea how Haley knew all this and if she had met Owen.
She suppressed her anxious emotions, took a deep breath, and said, "So what if I want to be Owen's stepmother?"
"I can only wish you success." Haley looked deeply at her and stepped into the elevator.
As the elevator doors closed, Emily weakly leaned against the wall, completely exhausted.
Half an hour later, Haley's car stopped at the entrance of the Winston Group building. It was a landmark in Cuenca, standing tall with 88 floors, magnificent and grand. People in a hurry passed by the entrance, all busy white-collar workers.
Haley walked into the building in her high heels. This was her first time coming to the Winston Group, and she immediately lost her sense of direction upon entry.
She walked to the front desk and asked casually, "Excuse me, how do I get to the CEO's office?"
The busy receptionist looked up but froze as soon as she saw the woman in front of her. She was astonishingly beautiful. Without heavy makeup, her face was naturally delicate, yet it seemed to contain all the beauty in the world, making it impossible to look away.
Although the news of Cuenca's most beautiful woman had caused a big stir, it was limited to a certain social circle.
