Chapter 758
Martin bent down, trying to bite Haley's lips.
Haley turned her head to avoid him. "Don't kiss me."
"What? You think it's disgusting?" Martin forced her head back. "Haley, the more you hate what I do, the more I want to do it. Because only then will you remember me well and not always think about running away from me."
Haley stared at him. "What about Ivan? Do you think this is fair to him?"
"He's dead. What does it matter if I wrong him?" Martin said indifferently. "This isn't the time to bring up a dead man."
Haley lowered her eyes slightly.
It seemed Martin had no idea that Ivan was still alive, so she could use this to her advantage.
As she was contemplating, Martin's head lowered again, just a centimeter away from kissing her neck when the balcony window was suddenly pushed open.
The cold night wind rushed in, causing Martin, who was leaning over Haley, to jerk his head up.
Martin's eyes, dark and brooding, looked over to see a man wearing a gold mask stepping in from the balcony.
A gold mask, a black cloak, and being near Hinterlands—Martin, who was familiar with this territory, instantly realized that the man in the gold mask was Leonardo.
"Leonardo, save me!" Haley put on her coat and called for help in a low voice.
Ivan, who had walked in, had eyes as cold as ice.
When he pushed open the balcony window and came in, he saw Martin lying on top of Haley, and in that instant, he was filled with rage.
His first reaction was that he had been betrayed, but when Haley called for help, he understood that Haley was being bullied.
Ivan coldly drew the gun from his waist, and before Martin could react, a silenced bullet flew out, hitting Martin's right wrist directly.
Haley instantly smelled the scent of blood.
"Fine." With a bullet in his right hand, Martin couldn't even draw his gun. He grinned viciously. "Haley, you really have some skills, hooking up with the leader of the Black Gang so quickly. I underestimated you. You'll pay for this!"
He leaped up and jumped off the second-floor balcony, quickly disappearing into the night.
The room was still filled with the smell of gunpowder and blood.
Haley buttoned up her shirt, her heart still racing. "Thank goodness you arrived in time."
Otherwise, the consequences would have been dire.
She would never have let Martin succeed, which would have likely resulted in mutual destruction.
She didn't mind getting hurt, but she was mainly worried about the kids.
Haley looked up and noticed that Ivan, who had just entered, seemed off. She turned and switched on the room's light.
The gold mask gleamed under the light.
Ivan raised his hand to remove the mask, pursing his lips and speaking softly. "That man just now looked very familiar."
Haley looked up at him. "He's your twin brother. Everything that happened to you, he caused it all."
Ivan paused, then hesitantly asked, "What is your relationship with him?"
