Chapter 656
Haley turned her body slightly and said calmly, "Do you have time to talk?"
"Do you have the leverage to talk to me?" Martin sneered. "Don't bring up identity. I'm warning you again, if my identity is exposed, the first to die will be that psychologist. The second, I'll see which of the four kids is the most disobedient and send them to hell first."
Haley's fingers tightened suddenly, almost making a move.
Martin threatening her with the kids was something she couldn't tolerate.
Fortunately, the kids had already been sent abroad by her, so there was no immediate danger to their lives.
Haley took a deep breath and said, "Precisely because I don't have the leverage, I want to talk. Do you really want a ticking time bomb in the house?"
Martin glanced at her, then strode into the bedroom and sat down on the bed.
He crossed his legs, looking quite roguish.
Martin used to disguise himself, forcing himself to learn Ivan's lifestyle.
Now that he was exposed, he felt even more at ease.
Martin took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and said, "Go ahead."
As Haley watched his series of actions, her barely suppressed hatred surged up again.
Martin had killed her husband, yet she still had to play along with him here.
She had to stay calm, absolutely calm, to find out Ivan's whereabouts.
"I must be honest. I hate you, and I wish I could kill you, but," Haley paused and continued. "The four kids just got a happy, complete family, with a dad and a mom. If they suddenly find out Ivan is dead, the blow could be devastating. Any mother would endure humiliation for her children, and so will I."
Martin raised an eyebrow at her. "And then?"
"But I refuse to stay in the Winston family and endure all this for the sake of the children," Haley said through gritted teeth. "Since it has come to this, let's sign the divorce papers first."
Haley took out the divorce papers from the drawer once again.
"Do you think I'll agree to a divorce?" Martin chuckled. "I just got a foothold in the Winston Group. If we divorce now, I'll face scrutiny from all directions, and it won't benefit me in any way."
And another selfish reason was that he didn't want to let Haley go.
Even if Haley hated him, she had to stay in the Winston family and go nowhere else.
"If you don't agree to a divorce, then you must give me some assurance so I can continue to be your wife with peace of mind."
Haley threw the divorce papers on the bed, her cold eyes sweeping over him without much emotion.
Martin crushed his cigarette and sneered. "You're sure I won't agree to a divorce, so you've already thought of the conditions?"
Haley brushed her long, beautiful hair and smiled brightly. "Martin, can you honestly say you don't have even a little bit of genuine feeling for me"
"Of course I do. You're so beautiful, any man would be tempted." Martin stood up, holding her cold hair. "But it's nothing more than a man's desire for a woman, like the feelings for a bar girl, understand?"
Haley's face instantly turned cold. "If you see me as a bar girl, why continue to let me be Mrs. Winston?
"Martin, listen carefully," she stepped back and said coldly. "if you don't want a divorce, then transfer the shares belonging to the four kids to my name."
The children of the Winston family automatically held shares in the Winston Group from birth.
However, because the kids were too young, the shares were temporarily held in Ivan's name for safekeeping.
Todd and Angela's shares had not even had their transfer contracts drafted before Ivan suddenly disappeared.
What belonged to Ivan was taken by Martin, but everything that belonged to the kids, she had to get back.
"You really dare to dream," Martin laughed. "They're not my kids. Why should I transfer shares to them?"
"Because those shares belong to them, and you're just a thief," Haley said word by word. "You took Ivan's things, consider it the Winston family's debt to you. But the four kids are innocent. Why should they pay the price for the grudges of the previous generation?"
