Chapter 97 Fainting

Emily was engulfed by the anger in the gazes of over a dozen pairs of eyes. She never expected such a scene today. She had someone specifically handle the finance department's accounts, so how could it have been discovered?

It was Haley! Ever since she came back, she not only took away half of Emily's shares but now she was also forcing her to step down as the CEO! She had planned to drive this little pest away from the shareholder's meeting today.

Why did it end up with her being forced to resign as the CEO? Why did this little pest have to make things difficult for her?

Emily's fingers trembled. Her lips turned pale as she trembled violently. "Haley purposely fabricated these false accounts to frame me. I didn't do any of these things..."

"Since Emily believes that I purposely set her up, fine, we'll let the police investigate," Haley smirked. "Do you dare to call the police?"

Emily's face turned ashen, and she slumped into her chair. Seeing this, everyone finally understood. The heir to the group, the second-largest shareholder, was involved in falsifying accounts. If she reported it to the police, she would be detained and investigated thoroughly.

If Emily dared to call the police, everyone could choose to believe her once. But now, she was sitting in the chair, pale-faced and trembling in fear.

Mr. Taylor shook his head with disappointment, "Frank, I think Emily is not suitable for the position of general manager."

"If we let Emily continue as the general manager, who knows how many fraudulent accounts she will create," Mr. Smith said angrily. "She has embezzled a billion US dollars in a year, reducing the dividends of each shareholder by millions of dollars. Shouldn't you make up for this loss?"

“Frank, the DeRoss family must give us an explanation for this matter!”

"Emily, it's better if you resign voluntarily. It won't look good if things escalate..."

People around chimed in, their voices buzzing in Emily's ears. Emily felt a pang of dizziness and a sickly sweetness in her chest. Her eyes rolled back, and she fainted on the spot. The meeting room instantly descended into chaos.

Haley sneered. If she had known that Emily was so vulnerable, she would have acted earlier.
Driving Emily out of the DeRoss Group would redirect her focus toward returning to the DeRoss Group rather than constantly tending to her two children.

Because of Emily's fainting, the board meeting was forced to adjourn. After Haley reported to the Customer Department, she called Mr. Bailey to make dinner plans together.

"I appreciate Mr. Bailey's help this time," Haley raised her wine glass and toasted with Mr. Bailey. "If you need any assistance in the future, feel free to ask."

Mr. Bailey took a sip of wine and smiled. "Actually, I do have something I would like Ms. DeRoss's help with."

Haley set down her glass and nodded. "Please, go ahead."

She had met Mr. Bailey during an event abroad and had become good business friends through their occasional interactions. The Roscente Group had entrusted the project entirely to Mr. Bailey this time, and she had merely mentioned it in passing before he agreed to collaborate.

Therefore, she was willing to go all out no matter what Mr. Bailey asked her to do. Little did she know what was going to happen. Mr. Bailey snapped his fingers. A waiter in the restaurant approached, carrying a large bouquet of roses.

"Ms. DeRoss, if you genuinely want to help me, please accept this bouquet of roses," he said. How did she not realize that Mr. Bailey had a crush on her?

"Ahem!" Mr. Bailey felt a tingling sensation on his scalp from her gaze and quickly explained, "These roses were sent to you by Mr. Ellenstein."
