Chapter 85 Timely Intervention

"Buzz, buzz, buzz..." Her phone suddenly vibrated.

Haley glanced and saw that Ivan was calling her. This phone call felt like a heavy blow to Haley's heart. If she killed Emily in the accident, she would surely face legal consequences. But what about Todd?

Todd had never had a father, and if Haley went to prison, Todd would lose his mother too.
There were many ways to seek revenge, but Haley couldn't let herself become a murderer.
She made a sudden turn, grazing Emily's shoulder with the car as she drove past.

Emily was startled and her high heels wobbled, causing her to fall by the roadside. Haley drove the car to the back of the DeRoss family mansion before slamming on the brakes. Taking a deep breath, she reluctantly answered the continuously vibrating phone.

"Ms. DeRoss is quite occupied, taking so long to answer the call," came Ivan's impatient voice from the other end.

Haley spoke slowly, "Mrs. Winston, what can I do for you?"

If it weren't for this call from Ivan, she might have done something foolish, so she didn't mind his sarcastic tone.

“Ms. DeRoss, haven’t you noticed that you lost something?” Ivan asked coldly.

Haley got out of the car with her key in hand and replied in a low voice, "Mrs. Winston, I am busy and don't have time for riddles. Just tell me what you want."

"Even if you're busy, shouldn't you take care of your child?" Ivan's voice was colder than hers. "Your daughter has been missing for two hours, and yet, as a mother, you still have the mood to handle work?"

Haley paused; her footsteps halted. "How do you know my daughter is missing?"

"She's with me. Come over quickly," Ivan hung up the phone directly.

Haley's face was filled with disbelief. Angela was with Ivan? And what about Emily. She sat in the car and slowly drove away from the front of the DeRoss family mansion.

She saw Emily, getting up from the ground, "Some lunatic was speeding in front of my house, nearly hitting me... I sprained my foot; it hurts so much. Let's go shopping another time..."
Haley watched Emily limp into the mansion.

The staff inside the DeRoss family mansion were unaware of anything out of the ordinary. Today, she had misunderstood Emily.

Haley pressed down on the gas pedal and fifteen minutes later, the car stopped at the entrance of the Winston Group building. When she arrived this time, the receptionist allowed her through without question.

Walking quickly, she reached the door of the CEO's office. The door was slightly ajar, and through the crack, she could see Angela sitting on the couch. The little girl had just finished taking a shower, her wet hair hanging on her forehead. Ivan was using a towel to dry her hair.

This man looked cold and domineering, But the movement was extremely gentle. Angela closed her eyelids, looking sleepy. Haley's tense nerves finally relaxed. She gently pushed open the door, and both the adults and the child on the sofa looked up at her.

Ivan casually threw the towel he was using to wipe his hair, and sneered coldly, "Is Ms. DeRoss done with her busy work?"

Ignoring his sarcasm, Haley walked over to her daughter and bent down to pick her up. "Angela, are you alright?"

The little girl blinked her big eyes, looking confused.
