Chapter 694
Even though he had pieced most of it together, Thomas was still floored. "Isn't Ivan the only Winston family descendant?"
"Dad has a twin brother," Keith said, lips tight. "I remember Grandma mentioning it when I was three, during Grandpa's death anniversary."
Angela's eyes widened in shock. "When did Dad become an uncle?"
"Did Dad change after he got married?" Owen asked, looking doubtful. "After the wedding, Dad went on a business trip for two weeks and came back different. So, he wasn't Dad? Where did our real Dad go?"
Tears filled Owen's eyes.
Haley wiped his tears and forced a gentle smile. "I found out your Dad was here, so I brought you all abroad overnight to find him. Don't worry. I've got some leads. We'll find Dad soon, and our family will be whole again."
The shock in Todd's eyes slowly turned to joy.
He had thought that after Ivan married Haley, Ivan no longer loved Haley, Angela, or him.
When Todd had opened his heart, Ivan's strange behavior had caused him to close it again.
The process was very painful, and Todd had struggled through it, but his heart still felt incomplete.
Now he knew that Ivan hadn't changed at all. Ivan still loved him, Angela, and Haley; Ivan was just temporarily missing.
But how could a living person disappear?
Todd's relief vanished instantly, replaced by a sense of unease in his pupils.
"Look how scared you all are," Thomas said with a relaxed smile. "Don't worry, within a month, your Dad will be back with you."
Haley also assured them. "Your Dad loves you so much; he wouldn't want to leave you. He'll be back soon."
It was this belief that allowed her to endure the entanglement with Martin.
It was this hope that had driven her to travel across the world to a foreign country.
As long as she held onto this belief and hope, the kids could keep living happily and carefree.
"I'll go wash the dishes."
Haley took the empty plates from the table to the kitchen, the sound of running water momentarily easing her mind.
Her nerves had been on edge lately, and she was in a constant state of suffocating anxiety.
Now that Haley had told the kids the truth, maybe with their help, she felt a strange sense of relief.
She just needed to believe and persist, and she would definitely find Ivan.
Watching her back as she washed the dishes, Thomas sighed heavily.
Thomas needed to call his dad and ask him to send more people so they could find Ivan faster.
The two adults were busy with their own tasks while the kids looked at each other.
Keith spoke first, "Todd, come upstairs. I need to talk to you."
Owen immediately stood up. "I want to listen too."
"Are you sure you can understand?" Todd pursed his lips. "Taking care of Angela would be a great achievement."
With that, he led Keith upstairs to the study.
Owen was very dissatisfied but had no choice. After all, he wasn't as smart as Todd and Keith.
Oh well, taking care of Angela was also a very important task.
As soon as they entered the study, Todd turned on the computer.
His fingers flew across the keyboard in rapid succession.
