"Mr. Winston, her memory loss doesn't seem intentional," Pitt said seriously. "Looks like her amnesia is from an accident. Usually, multiple hypnosis sessions can help recover memories, but..."
He paused for a moment.
Ivan pursed his lips and said softly, "Whenever someone from her past is mentioned, her emotions change. The aftereffects of the Bio-intelligent Chip haven't completely worn off. If we force her to remember..."
It could drag him and Haley back to the nightmare from four years ago.
He couldn't reach her heart, and Haley couldn't escape her emotions. In the end, they'd just drift apart.
"Mr. Winston, since Ms. Deross has forgotten the past, starting fresh might be better," Pitt said with a wink. "Before, a full blood transfusion was needed to get rid of the aftereffects. That surgery is super risky; one wrong move, and she could die on the table. Now that Ms. Deross has lost her memory and is free from the Bio-intelligent Chip's aftereffects, it's a win-win."
Ivan's eyes darkened. "Keep this under wraps for me."
He could avoid triggering Haley's memories, but he couldn't control the kids.
Pitt nodded and went back to his room.
Ivan squatted by the sofa, gently brushing Haley's messy hair aside, his fingers grazing her rosy lips.
He'd spent the night digging into the Jenkins family and Haley's life over the past three years.
Three years ago, Haley suddenly became the adopted daughter of the Jenkins family.
But he couldn't find any info about the missing year in between. Only by uncovering what happened during that year could he understand what had truly happened to Haley.
"Haley, Haley."
He caressed her face, calling her name over and over.
"Camilla, Camilla."
It felt like someone was calling her. The voice echoed in Camilla's ears.
She felt like she was at sea, wrapped in thick morning fog, unable to find her way. In the depths of the fog, a tall figure loomed faintly.
The man called her name with deep affection. He wasn't from the Jenkins family. Why did he call her name so tenderly?
Suddenly, a surge of waves crashed over her, the icy seawater striking her lips, rubbing against them forcefully.
The seawater enveloped her body, from her back to her chest.
The icy water suddenly turned scorching hot, a strange sensation rising within Camilla's body.
She moved slightly, only to be enveloped even more fiercely by the water. Her fingers twitched suddenly, and her eyes snapped open.
Then she saw Ivan lying on top of her, his burning lips kissing her neck, moving downward. Ivan's scorching hands roamed over her back and chest.
Without any hesitation, Camilla coldly pushed Ivan away and slapped him hard across the face.
Ivan's eyebrows didn't even twitch.
His gaze fell on the disheveled Camilla, her neck marked with light kiss marks from him, her collar pulled down significantly.
In the past four years, he hadn't been with any other women. Seeing Haley, he couldn't control himself anymore.
