Chapter 259 Ivan’s Sudden Thought

She entered the villa with her two kids in tow and Ivan by her side.

Alfred stepped out to greet them, the setting sun casting a warm glow on the faces of the four of them.

Alfred couldn't shake the feeling that they looked like a family.

The young boy's features bore a striking resemblance to the man of the house. He could almost pass for the eldest son at a glance. Had Alfred not known that the boy was Haley's son, he might've mistaken them for having three sons in the Winston family.

Alfred suppressed his surprise and said warmly, "Mr. Todd, Ms. Angela, it's nice to see you again."

He had met the children previously when Owen was hospitalized.

Although Angela was quiet, her cuteness was undeniable. In her pink, puffy dress, she resembled a sweet little flower, soft and delightful.

He secretly wished Ivan would have another daughter soon, one just as adorable and beautiful as Angela.

"Alfred, you can just call me Todd and my sister Angela," Todd replied politely.

Alfred patted his cheek and squatted down in front of Angela. He offered, "Ms. Angela, how about I carry you inside? We've prepared lots of treats for you, like chocolate black forest cake and strawberry ice cream."

A spark lit up in the girl's usually dim eyes.

Taking the chance, Alfred scooped her up into his arms, and she allowed it, following obediently inside.

Haley was a bit surprised. "Angela doesn't mind being held by Alfred?"

"Owen can be quite the handful, Alfred has learned all the tricks to charm children," Ivan explained. "He knew you were coming today and has been preparing since the crack of dawn."

Haley nodded and stepped into the foyer.

Immediately, a maid presented a pair of freshly bought pink slippers for Haley.

"I had the staff prepare a pair for you, thinking of future visits," Ivan remarked casually.

Haley looked over to Angela, who was now wearing fluffy bunny slippers, while Todd sported plain gray ones. It was simple, much like his demeanor.

Quietly, Haley spoke, "I appreciate all of this."

"Sorry to put you out. Owen is a really picky eater, and the Winston family goes through chefs weekly. I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't desperate," Ivan explained softly.

He escorted her into the kitchen.

The kitchen was huge, stocked with an array of fresh ingredients that could rival a small farmers’ market.

The staff stood by, ready to take orders.

Haley stepped in, glanced at the ingredients, and said in a gentle tone, "You all can take a break. I'll handle this."

The cooks replied with respect, "Just let us know what you need, Ms. Haley. We'll prepare the meal."

The kitchen hummed with organized activity.

Ivan lingered at the entrance, his gaze fixed on Haley’s every move.

He suddenly considered that maybe having a woman around the house wasn't so bad after all.

Leaning against the doorframe, he watched her until Todd approached him.

"Mr. Ivan, may I ask you a question?" Todd tugged at his sleeve.

Ivan snapped back to reality, glancing at the book in Todd's hands. "You're into music now?"

Todd was holding a book of piano sheet music.

It was Emily's piano sheet music from her practice sessions, carelessly left on a shelf in the Winston residence.
