Chapter 912
Ivan checked Martin's body himself; Martin was dead in under a minute.
He bent down, brushed his hand over Martin's face, and closed those creepy eyes.
"Find a spot to bury him," Ivan said, then hopped into the car with Haley.
In a soft voice, he said, "Haley, it's not on you. My bullet did the job."
Back when he was Leonardo, he was popping people left and right. Killing didn't faze him.
Even though Ivan was now doing his thing in Country H, Martin's dirty deeds meant Ivan would walk away clean.
"Haley, it's done. Nothing's gonna happen now." Ivan held her, whispering comfort.
Haley started to chill out. She saw the bodyguards dragging Martin's bloody body out of the car.
The demon who'd wrecked her life was finally gone.
"Keep Martin's death on the down-low for now," Haley croaked. "His goons have controllers. No clue when they might hit me up."
"As long as Martin's toast, those guys are no biggie," Ivan said, holding her close. "It's all good."
Haley nodded, snuggling into Ivan's arms. He took her to a villa, where they cleaned up and changed clothes. Then they headed to Winston Villa.
There were a bunch of people around, all set up by Ivan.
In the yard, a guy was tied up. It was Robert, Martin's right-hand man in Watertown.
Robert was on his knees, hands tied behind him, eyes just as dark as Martin's.
"Haley, go inside with the kids. I'll take care of this."
Haley nodded, pulled her clothes tighter, and went into the villa.
"Robert, you knew I wasn't Martin for a while now, right?" Ivan looked down at him, lifting Robert's chin with his shoe. His voice was cold and deadly, "I'll give you a shot to live."
Robert spat, "Kill me if you got the guts!"
"Martin's already dead. Offing you is nothing," Ivan sneered.
Robert was shocked, "You're lying!"
The bodyguard behind Ivan handed over a photo. Ivan tossed it in Robert's face, "Check it out. Bullet through the heart. Think he's dead?"
Robert's eyes went red. He'd been through hell with Martin, their bond tighter than blood.
"You killed your own brother!" Robert cried out, "Martin was evil, but he never wanted you dead. How could you be so heartless? You're not even human!"
Ivan just laughed. Martin had taken his wife, hurt his kid, and stolen his home. And he called that not wanting him dead?
If it wasn't for his luck, he'd be dead a hundred times over.
Ivan sneered, "If I can kill my own brother, your life means squat. You got one shot to live or die."
Robert gritted his teeth, "Just kill me."
"Fine." Ivan pulled out his gun and pressed it to Robert's head. "Out of the goodness of my heart, I'll let your wife and kid join you. No need to thank me."
"You wouldn't dare!" Robert was instantly furious.
