From then on, Angela became Albert’s second student.
“I have concerts in other countries to attend. Once they’re finished, I’ll introduce you to the other student I mentor, who is also an exceptional pianist,” Mr. Albert said contentedly, “Take this piano as a gift, Angela. I can't guide you in person right now, so let this piano be part of your practice."
Haley was shocked, “This piano is far too valuable..."
“Valuable?" Mr. Albert looked unimpressed, “The strings are factory-made, and the sound isn't the best. The piano that the other student I mentor plays has strings I made myself, which produce a much finer sound... When I find the time, I'll craft a piano for Angela. For now, this will suffice.”
Haley was at a loss for words.
The piano she saw as top-tier was, in Mr. Albert's eyes, simply passable.
Well then, it would have to do for now.
She patted Angela on the head, “Did you say thank you to Mr. Albert?”
Angela stepped forward and shook Mr. Albert’s hand.
Haley was surprised again.
Angela showed a great deal of warmth towards Mr. Albert from the start.
It was clear evidence of her profound interest in piano.
Haley was incredibly grateful for making this connection.
After seeing Mr. Albert off at the airport with the children, Haley arranged for the piano to be brought to their villa.
The piano was placed by the living room balcony on the first floor, where the sunlight could touch its keys. Angela, sitting at the piano, seemed to merge with the bench, practicing the two new pieces she had learned without pause.
In the kitchen, Haley was cooking, humming along with the piano's melody.
Outside on the balcony, Todd was absorbed in his laptop, his attention never wavering from the screen. His fingers tapped away until he found the website he was looking for. He copied the URL, opened his messaging app, and sent it with a note, "Find out where this website is hosted."
A dark avatar popped up on the screen immediately.
Someone named “K” had replied.
"Boss DeRoss, it's been ages. You haven't been around for six months!"
'The Boss DeRoss was a nickname Todd used online. Despite changing it several times, the group still used it.
His reply was cool and to the point, "Cut the chatter; just trace the URL for me; I've got restricted access here."
One minute passed...
Five minutes...
Ten minutes...
Todd's brow furrowed, “When did your skills get so rusty?"
K: "Man, this URL is layered with 108 levels of encryption. It's not difficult, just takes time. Hang on."
A blurry screenshot soon arrived. Todd enhanced the image with photo editing software until the domain name became clear.
Seeing the domain name, his expression turned grave.
