Chapter283

Ivan, holding a salt container, spooned a tablespoon into the pot. He felt it wasn't enough, and added a bit more, then another bit.

Setting the salt aside, he picked up the sauce bottle, smelled it, and kept pouring it into the pot.

"Mr. Ivan, what are you doing?" Todd asked, rushing back in.

Ivan looked completely composed, "I'm making spaghetti for you and Angela. What's wrong?"

"You've added three spoons of salt. That's quite a lot. You shouldn't put in more sauce. It'll be too salty." Todd frowned. He tasted a spoonful and immediately spat it out, making a face. "It's really salty."

Ivan kept his composure. "Let's make another one."

Todd raised an eyebrow at him. "Mr. Ivan, do you know how to make spaghetti?"

"I've seen videos. Don't worry."

He was quick to learn just about anything. Considering it was his first time making spaghetti, he should do just fine.

Ivan dumped the botched attempt into the trash can.

He grabbed a new package of spaghetti and threw it into a pot of cold water.

Todd's temples throbbed. He took a deep breath and said, "Mr. Ivan, you've burnt your chin and your hand back. Get some rest. I'll handle the spaghetti."

Ivan continued to drop spaghetti into the pot. "You're too young for cooking. Wait in the living room."

Todd was at a loss for words.

If he didn't know any better, Ivan's calm demeanor could have easily fooled him.

With the most serious expression, the man was doing the most unreliable thing.

If he actually went to wait outside, there was no way he and Angela would get to eat any spaghetti tonight.

"Mr. Ivan, let's do it together." After saying this, Todd went over to fish the spaghetti out of the cold pot.

With a grave tone, he explained, "The water needs to boil before adding the spaghetti, or it'll turn into mush and be inedible."

Ivan was taken aback. He was being schooled by a four-year-old.

Well, the tutorial did say that, but he hadn't taken it seriously.

Ivan pursed his lips, approached Todd, and spoke calmly, "You direct, I'll execute."

He filled another pot with water and placed it on the stove.

As the water heated, Todd instructed him to chop tomatoes and sausage and crack an egg.

Just as those were prepared, the water boiled, and Ivan hurriedly added the spaghetti.

He seemed a bit flustered, but his face remained perfectly composed.

Ten minutes later, a pot of pasta was ready.

Ivan carefully served three bowls.

The little girl, drawn by the aroma, had tied her bib and sat obediently at the table, her eyes sparkling.

Ivan's heart melted.

He placed a bowl in front of Angela and said softly, "Try this and see if my spaghetti is any good."

Angela picked up her fork and slurped a mouthful of spaghetti, her eyes shining even brighter as she gobbled down most of the bowl in a few bites.

Todd was surprised.

It was clear that this was Ivan's first time in the kitchen, but it seemed like his first attempt at spaghetti was actually good.

He took a hesitant bite, and his stoic face immediately frowned.

The taste of the spaghetti was hardly appealing, though not completely inedible. Yet, his sister managed to gobble down more than half a bowl in one go.
