Chapter 911
Haley shot Brenda a frosty look and hustled to catch up with Martin. The second she stepped into the yard, she felt something was off.
With a quick scan, she spotted a bunch of folks hiding behind the bushes.
Martin caught on too.
He twisted Haley's arm behind her back and hissed, "Did you call Ivan over?"
Haley bit her lip. She knew Ivan would follow, and that was her only hope.
She said coolly, "I'm in your hands now. What can he do? Let's go."
Her compliant act made Martin think she was ready to ditch everything and live happily ever after with him.
But that fantasy shattered when he saw the bloodstains on her neck, showing she was far from compliant.
Martin shoved her roughly into the driver's seat, checked for knives, and tied her hands.
"Behave, and I'll let you go once we're on the plane."
He hopped into the passenger seat, and they sped off.
Almost immediately, a sports car appeared behind them. Ivan was in the passenger seat, holding a pitch-black gun.
Ivan barked, "Flank from the left, force him onto the highway."
Four cars closed in from behind, blocking all the left turns, pushing Martin onto the highway.
"Shit, watch me play you to death!" Martin sneered, flooring it. As he sped up, Haley's hands, tied behind her back, reached into her skirt.
She had five knives hidden on her. Two were exposed when she undressed at the entrance, one was ditched during her suicide attempt. Now she had one each at her upper hip, and thigh.
She wasn't about to stay passive. She gripped the knife handle and gently cut the rope.
The car got hit from behind. Haley tried to stay calm. There were fewer cars on this road now, with five cars in a chase.
It was only a matter of time before Ivan caught up with Martin. But with her in Martin's hands, Ivan was at a disadvantage.
Haley's eyes narrowed.
As the car turned, Haley suddenly lunged forward, stabbing the knife in her right hand towards Martin's carotid artery while her left hand turned the steering wheel. The car crashed into the guardrail at that moment.
Meanwhile, a bullet whizzed through the air, shattering the car window and hitting Martin's left chest, right in the heart.
His usually sinister eyes widened suddenly, and he turned his head to look at Haley sitting to his right.
Haley's knife had stabbed into his neck, leading to blood gush out.
His chest was hit by the bullet. His black clothes were instantly soaked with blood.
He slowly collapsed, gazing at Haley sinisterly.
"Haley! Haley!"
Ivan pounded on the car window.
Haley, with cold hands and feet, pushed open the car door and fell into Ivan's arms.
"Ivan, I killed him. I killed him."
