Chapter 596
At the end of the hallway was the CEO's office. The door was open, and a man in a black suit could be seen leaning back in his chair.
"Daddy!" Angela said with a smile, and she instinctively wanted to rush over.
But Todd grabbed Angela's wrist, his face grim, and said, "Daddy is playing a game."
Owen was incredulous. "So Daddy isn't too busy with work to come home. Daddy has time to play pool and games, but no time to be with us or with Mommy! Doesn't Daddy love us anymore?"
Before Owen even finished speaking, tears rolled down his cheeks.
As Owen cried, Angela couldn't hold back either, biting her lip and sniffing.
Keith pursed his lips and said, "The Winston Group is developing an online game, maybe Daddy is play-testing it."
That was the only excuse Keith could come up with for Ivan.
But as Keith took a few steps forward, he could see the screen of the game console reflected on the glass. It showed a popular online game that was unrelated to the Winston Group.
Keith's heart sank instantly.
Perhaps sensing that he was being watched, Martin, who was playing the game, suddenly looked up.
When he saw the four children standing in the hallway, a hint of interest flashed across Martin's lips, then he casually pushed the game keyboard aside.
Martin stood up and walked out briskly, saying, "Since you're here, why not come in and sit down?"
Owen shouted as he cried, "Dad! You'd rather play games in the office than come home to be with us. Don't you know how much we miss you?"
Martin just found it amusing.
He really hated children. He felt like he'd be driven crazy if he went back and listened to their noise.
Martin impatiently scratched his ear. "What do you want? Just spit it out."
"Are you coming home today?" Keith asked calmly. "After you and Mommy got married, you haven't spent a single day at home. I want to know why."
"Is that how you talk to people older than you?" Martin laughed mischievously. "My affairs are none of your business."
Keith's eyes turned red with anger.
He hadn't seen Ivan for a month. Why did it seem like Ivan had become even more terrifying than before?
"Daddy is mean," Angela cried out. "I don't like Daddy anymore, I don't want Daddy anymore."
Angela's crying annoyed Martin.
Martin didn't like children, but when Angela cried, he actually felt a pang of heartache. It was unsettling.
Could it be because they were related by blood?
That was a bit strange!
Martin and Ivan were enemies, yet he felt sorry for Ivan's daughter because of blood ties?
What a joke.
Martin sneered. "Fine. If you want to cry, go home and cry. Don't bother me here."
Angela cried even louder, bursting into astonishing wails.
Todd, who always cherished Angela, just stood there indifferently, neither comforting nor coaxing her, his eyes fixed straight on Martin in front of him.
Martin was taken aback by Todd's glare.
It was as if everything he had planned had been seen through.
