Chapter 1038

A dozen dishes filled the table to the brim.

"Nicole, go downstairs and buy some beer," Camilla sighed and said.

"Why should I go?" Nicole couldn't wait to start eating.

"You're the one who wants to drink." Camilla shot her a glance. "Besides, I ordered dinner. It's not too much to ask you to buy some beer, is it?"

Nicole reluctantly put on her coat and went downstairs to buy beer.

A case of beer was placed on the dining table, and Camilla and Nicole began their dinner.

Nicole picked up a beer and chugged down more than half the bottle. In an instant, tears streamed down her face like water from a faucet.

"Camilla, you can laugh at me all you want now," she said, sobbing while eating lobster. "Bryan is such a jerk. He came after me and then dumped me. Am I a fool?"

Camilla frowned. "What did Mr. Lumi do to you?"

"He said he mistook me for someone else!" Nicole cried, tears and snot all over her face. "He also said that since the gifts were already given, I should consider them as his apology. Who cares about his apology and his gifts? Camilla, why am I so miserable that I end up with someone like him?"

Camilla, a bit disgusted, handed her a few tissues. "Wipe your face; you look awful when you cry."

"Who cares if I look awful?" Nicole said, somewhat self-destructively. "I thought he fell in love with me at first sight, but it turns out he mistook me for someone else. I hate him!"

Camilla continued eating and asked, "Did you ask him who the original recipient of the gifts was?"

"He wouldn't tell me!" Nicole said through gritted teeth. "He must be afraid I'll go after that woman!"

Camilla said, "The gifts he gave you are worth at least six million dollars. At least he has some sense of responsibility."

"Who cares about those stupid gifts?"

Nicole threw down her utensils and ran back to her bedroom. She threw all the dresses and bags on the bed, then grabbed a pair of scissors and started cutting them to shreds.

Camilla didn't bother with her. Since Bryan had mistaken her for someone else, everything made sense now.

She believed Nicole would get through this bit of heartbreak.

Right now, she had no energy to worry about Nicole.

Camilla drank beer one can after another, and finally stumbled back to her room, sleeping until dawn. She was awakened by Nicole's screams.

"Did we get robbed last night?" Nicole, clutching her disheveled hair, asked in horror.

Camilla opened the door and found the living room floor littered with shredded dresses and some broken jewelry.

It really did look like they had been robbed.

"My dresses! This one cost three hundred thousand dollars," Nicole knelt on the floor, picking up the pieces regretfully. "These earrings are worth eight hundred thousand dollars, and this bracelet, how did it break in half?"

Camilla pinched the bridge of her nose. "You did this yourself when you were drunk. I even recorded a video. Want to see it?"

She had done it mainly to prevent Nicole from denying it when she sobered up.

Nicole's wailing stopped abruptly.

"I'm going to handle some work today and will return to Brussville tomorrow. Come back with me," Camilla said calmly.

"Aren't you supposed to stay in Watertown as the secretary for the president of the Winston Group? Why are you heading back to Brussville so soon?" Nicole asked.
