Chapter 350

Emily narrowed her eyes skeptically. "What are you up to?"

"Nothing much, just a casual chat. Let's meet on the balcony when the party is about to end."

Haley waved her hand and went upstairs with her wine glass.

The four children were on the second floor, engaged in assembling an incredibly challenging puzzle and getting along harmoniously.

After a few minutes with the children, the party downstairs officially started, and she walked back down.

All the guests had arrived, about sixty or seventy people, and the living room was filled with clusters of guests chatting away. Some clients pulled Ivan aside from the market.

Haley spotted him immediately.

That man was always the center of attention, no matter where he was.

Of course, the most beautiful woman in Cuenca always stood out in any crowd as well.

Just as she came downstairs, several men attempted to strike up a conversation with her.

Haley rejected all with a forced smile.

The party had reached its halfway point when Emily took the stage.

"Today is my aunt's birthday, and I have prepared a special piano piece for her. I dedicate this to my aunt, wishing her a happy birthday and an ever-youthful life."
After confidently finishing her speech, Emily took a seat at the piano.

She had stuck close to Mrs. Winston all evening, and it was natural for everyone in the banquet hall to assume she would soon become the young Mrs. of the Winston family.

Her performance now confirmed her status.

Being the future lady of the house, the audience gave her respect and broke into applause.

With her eyes slightly closed, Emily played a lively tune on the piano. Her skill was exceptional, and she had practiced diligently over time to reach a peak in her performance. As the last note of her piece faded, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause.

Those attending the birthday celebration were mostly piano aficionados—either they had painstakingly learned the instrument themselves since childhood or had children who had taken lessons, picking up some knowledge along the way.

Everyone was astonished by Emily's performance.

"Miss DeRoss," someone exclaimed, "your piano piece was absolutely mesmerizing. For a moment, I thought I was attending a concert by a great master."

"Your proficiency in piano must mean you've surpassed grade eight, right?" asked a less informed guest.

Emily smiled, her lips pursing lightly: "I actually have a level ten certificate in piano. It wasn't too difficult, really..."

"Level ten isn't hard? My daughter has been practicing for seven or eight years, and she has only reached level six," another guest remarked wistfully.

"I've heard that level ten is the pinnacle of achievement. Miss DeRoss, you are quite the piano prodigy to have reached such heights at your young age!" the compliments flowed freely.

Emily carried herself confidently, her chin lifted by the self-assurance regained during her last piano tour.

Alice once said there weren't a few young pianists who could match Emily's skill. If she stayed dedicated, she would surely become a piano master.

Her gaze shifted and fell upon Haley.

Leaning against the railing, Haley held a glass of wine with a relaxed and nonchalant expression, seemingly indifferent to the surrounding adulation.

Emily suddenly laughed. "Stop praising me, everyone. Honestly, level ten in the piano is pretty straightforward. My sister achieved her level ten certificate in her teenage years. She plays piano way better than I do."
