Chapter 363
The Winston Group.
" Mr. WinstonMrs. Winston, he did indeed make it to Cuenca."
Luke placed a stack of photos on the desk.
Ivan's fingertips glided over the pictures, his expression growing darker.
In a cold voice, he asked, "Besides visiting Star Technical Company, where else did he go?"
Luke shook his head and replied, "He spent the afternoon at a bar, and he hasn't come out yet."
Ivan picked up a lighter and slowly began to burn the stack of photos on his desk. The blue flames slowly devoured the silver mask.
After taking care of the photos, he glanced at his watch. It was five in the afternoon.
"Push back tonight's meeting."
He picked up his suit and walked towards the exit.
" Mr. WinstonMrs. Winston, the meeting tonight is to report on the work from last quarter. It's very important..." Luke tried to follow when Ivan stepped into the elevator.
He walked to the parking lot, opened the car door, and sat inside. Then he sent a message to Haley: "I'll be at your company in twenty minutes."
Haley was in a meeting when she received the message and was caught off guard.
What was this manIvan doing coming to her office?
She replied with a question mark.
"I promised Angela I'd pick her up from school today. We're going to preschool together."
Seeing the message from Ivan, Haley said, "Okay."
She put down her phone, finished her meeting summary, and then returned to her office.
She wrapped up her day's work, tidied up her desk, and just waited for Ivan to arrive so she could leave for the day.
At that moment, her phone vibrated. It was a call from Justin.
"Haley, such a big incident happened last night. How come you didn't tell me?"
Haley was momentarily stunned, "How did you find out?"
"The security office called and told me about last night. Otherwise, I would still be in the dark," Justin sighed, "You're a single mother living alone with two kids. I can't stop worrying. How about you move to the Martínez family house? With Grandma and me there, no one else would dare to bother you."
The villa belonged to the Martínez family, and after the security office had investigated last night's attack, they must have informed Justin.
Haley hadn't expected the incident to become so widely known.
She said helplessly, "Grandma probably doesn't even know about this yet, does she?"
Justin paused before speaking. "How could I dare to tell Grandma?" he said. "I heard from the security guards that The Patel Family sent those two black men. Your kids aren't related to Jeremy.Weren't your kids, Todd and Angela, supposed to have no connection with Jeremy? Why would The Patel Family still send people to trouble you?"
Earlier, Haley had held a press conference to clear up the matter with the two children, and Justin naturally believed his cousinHaley's words.
While Haley was organizing her files, she said, "Todd and Angela really have nothing to do with The Patel Family. I've already made that clear to Jeremy, and he shouldn't come around anymore. You can rest assured, I'll take good care of Todd and Angela. If there's ever anything you need help with, I'll call you first."
Justin hesitated for several seconds before tentatively asking, "Haley, can I ask who the biological father of Todd and Angela really is?"
His question was met with silence from Haley.
"I'm sorry, Haley. It's your private life, and I shouldn't have asked. Just forget I said anything."
"It's not that I don't want to tell you," she finally murmured. "I just haven't figured out how to say it."
Haley leaned against the balcony window, gazing unfocused at the skyscrapers outside. Some things, when kept inside for too long, become an overwhelming urge to share with someone else.
