Chapter 800
Cauth just started to say a few words but cut himself off immediately.
Would his love for paintings seem like a waste of time to Haley? Would it make Haley dislike him?
Cauth paused and said, "I like studying the art market. A few years ago, I collected a batch of paintings and sold them over a month ago, maing a good profit."
He had spent all that money on dealing with negative online publicity for Haley.
"Grandpa Lumi, can you paint?" Owen asked, "I really like painting. Can you teach me?"
"Do you really like painting?" Cauth's eyes lit up. "After we finish eating, can you draw a painting for me?"
Owen proudly lifted his head. "Of course I can paint. I won first place in the kindergarten painting competition."
But Keith and Todd were so bright and outstanding that no one really cared whether he could paint or not.
After all, compared to the talents of Keith, Todd, and Angela, his ability to paint didn't seem like much.
Cauth was delighted.
He'd always loved painting but lost his drive after starting a family and career, so he began collecting instead.
Cauth considered fostering Bryan's interest in painting but gave up when Bryan showed no interest.
Unexpectedly, one of his descendants had inherited his talent for painting.
As soon as lunch was over, Cauth immediately set up painting tools, and watched Owen paint.
Keith knew Owen liked painting, but he wasn't sure how good Owen was, so he stood by to watch.
Todd and Angela sat on a low stool nearby, reading books.
A gentle smile appeared on Haley's face after seeing this scene.
She took the opportunity to go to the bathroom.
Coming out of the bathroom, she heard the Lumi family's servants talking in low voices in the hallway.
"The guest today is Mrs. Haley Winston. I heard she's the Mr. Cauth Lumi's illegitimate daughter."
"Mr. Cauth Lumi is such an decent person. How could he have an illegitimate daughter?"
"Mrs. Haley Winston is a few years older than Mr. Bryan Lumi. She must have been born before the Mr. Cauth Lumi got married. I just don't understand why she grew up with the Haley Winston family."
"I dont't know what happened over twenty years ago. Let's just talk about what happend a few days ago."
"The heir to the Lumi Group has been decided to be Ava. Does anyone know why?"
"Mr. Bryan Lumi withdrew from the heir competition, so only Ava is left. What's so strange about that?"
"Mr. Bryan Lumi had a reason for withdrawing. I was cleaning his room the other day and overheard Ava talking to him about it. Apparently, Ava has some dirt on Mrs. Haley Winston. If Mr. Bryan Lumi didn't withdraw, Ava would ruin Mrs. Haley Winston's reputation."
"No way, does Mr. Bryan Lumi care that much about Mrs. Haley Winston, his sister?"
"Since they share the same father, of course he cares. Besides, Mr. Bryan Lumi didn't have much chance of winning the heir competition anyway. By withdrawing, he saved face."
The servants were engrossed in discussing the Lumi family's affairs.
Until Haley suddenly appeared in the hallway, and they all froze, eyes wide with fear.
Wiping the water off on her hands, Haley left with a stern face.
It wasn't until her figure disappeared down the hallway that they all let out a sigh of relief, but they didn't dare to gossip anymore and quickly went back to work.
