Chapter 532
"Indeed, Ivan is getting married, you should be happy about it."
"But Ivan's brother's company has been ruined, and they are being driven out of Watertown. Just the thought of my other son living in this world like a rat cuts me like a knife."
Katherine frowned. "Back when Sterling made a mistake, it was also because he was too young. So many years have passed, Ivan should let it go. Now that Ivan has a happy family with a wife and children, why keep targeting Sterling? I'll go talk to Ivan about it."
"Don't, please don't!" Mrs. Winston grabbed Katherine's arm, but Katherine gently pushed her away, smiling. "Come to think of it, I've never formally met Ivan. How about you introduce us?"
Haley and the children were looking at photo albums in the hospital room, all depicting the dessert table decorations at the wedding. Several boys were not interested, but Angela was engrossed, wanting this and that alternately.
As the mother and children chatted, Mrs. Winston led in a blonde, blue-eyed girl.
"Ivan hasn't returned yet?" Mrs. Winston smiled. "Come, Haley, let me introduce you. This is Katherine. For the past five years abroad, Katherine has been keeping me company and chatting with me."
Haley stood up, politely shook hands with Katherine. "Hello, I'm Haley."
"Pleasure to meet you." Katherine shook Haley's hand, smiling. "Haley is truly beautiful, no wonder Ivan suddenly wants to get married."
"Of course, my mom is beautiful. Mom is the most beautiful fairy in the world!" Owen proudly blinked his big eyes.
"You must be Owen, right?" Katherine squatted down, smiling, "I often hear Mrs. Winston mention the troublemaker of the Winston family, and it must be you."
"I'm not a troublemaker!" Owen huffed. "It's my dad who's the troublemaker. I really dislike my dad!"
Just as Ivan pushed open the door to the hospital room, he heard this.
He gave Owen a cold glance, making Owen shrink his neck, quickly hiding behind Haley.
With his mom protecting him, he defiantly made a face at Ivan, looking unafraid.
Ivan was at a loss for words.
This kid used to not dare to be so defiant, now he was asking for trouble.
But with Haley around, he really couldn't do anything to this kid...
"Angela, didn't you say you were hungry? I will take you guys to the cafeteria for some delicious food." Haley ushered the children out.
The four kids quickly followed her, and the hospital room soon quieted down.
Katherine smiled, extended her hand, and said, "Mr. Winston, hello, I'm Katherine. We've chatted on Facebook."
Ivan calmly asked, "Is everything taken care of on your end?"
"My studio will be opening in a couple of days, all thanks to the great assistant of Mr. Winston." Katherine smiled. "I wanted to treat you to a meal to show my gratitude, but since you're not feeling well, we'll have to postpone that."
Ivan's expression remained indifferent.
Katherine had accompanied his mother for four or five years, so he sent his assistant to help prepare for the opening of her psychological clinic as a way to repay the favor.
"Mrs. Winston, I'm feeling a bit hungry, could you help me get some food from outside?" Katherine suddenly said.
Mrs. Winston's fingers tightened.
She knew Katherine was diverting her from what she wanted to say.
She didn't want an outsider meddling in the Winston family's affairs, but just the thought of her other son's situation made her compromise.
Maybe an outsider could really persuade Ivan?
