Chapter 405 Second Option

"I am willing to be the villain if it means keeping the four children together," declared Mrs. Winston, her expression stern and her tone resolute.

Ivan averted his gaze, responding indifferently, "I choose the second option."

"What?" Mrs. Winston was taken aback, momentarily bewildered by his words.

"I said I choose the second option," Ivan reiterated slowly, "You can start preparing, Mrs. Winston."

Once again stunned, Mrs. Winston struggled to comprehend. Ivan, who had previously interrupted her and threatened her, was now voluntarily opting for the second option.

Speaking slowly, Mrs. Winston asked, "Are you willing to marry Haley?"

Previously, Mrs. Winston had discussed this extensively; Ivan wouldn't propose to Emily, and she always suspected her son was a commitment phobe.

But now, he was initiating talks about marriage.

It was utterly bizarre!

With a serious expression, Ivan stated, "But we mustn't rush; we'll take it slow."

Mrs. Winston's eyes conveyed a mix of emotions.

It seemed Ivan genuinely cared for Haley.

Thankfully, it was Haley, not another woman. Otherwise, she'd be concerned about the stepmother's treatment of the four children.

The car crept along the road.

Haley, hands on the steering wheel, gently inquired, "Todd, what do you think of Keith and Owen?"

Todd looked up and responded, "What specifically do you want to know?"

"Like, do you enjoy spending time with them? Would you be happy to live with them?" Haley cautiously framed her question.

Todd's gaze shifted. "Are you implying that you're sending me and Angela to live with the Winston family?"

"Of course not." Haley chuckled softly. "Maybe Keith and Owen will end up staying with us instead. I'm just checking with you beforehand."

Todd breathed a sigh of relief. "They're pretty cool. I'd definitely welcome them to come over."

Haley pursed her lips. "To come over." That phrase exposed Todd's inner thoughts.

To Todd, Keith and Owen were still outsiders; despite being blood brothers, they could only be visitors to each other.

Suddenly, Haley understood the significance behind Mrs. Winston's words. "Quadruplet brothers should live together."

However, she couldn't understand why Todd and Angela should change their surname or why she should marry into the Winston family.

Haley knew she shouldn't entertain such thoughts, yet she found herself trapped in a dilemma she couldn't escape.

The car halted in front of the house, and she glanced at the two-story villa.

Upstairs were three bedrooms and a study, downstairs a guest room and another study. Two more rooms could be added with some modifications.

She had begun to daydream about life with Keith and Owen visiting, yet she felt powerless to gain custody from the Winston family.

Haley sighed and led the children into the house.
