Chapter 1021

Camilla sat in the living room, gently sipping her coffee, finding the taste just to her fondness.

She sat by the coffee table, perfectly positioned to see the sunrise gradually illuminating Watertown. The golden sunlight bathed the entire city, with the glass of the skyscrapers reflecting the light, making them appear resplendent.

The door to the living room clicked open as Ivan gently pushed it.

Camilla put down her coffee cup, stood up, and smiled slightly. "Good morning, Mr. Winston."

Ivan quietly watched Camilla, who was sitting by the window, the bright morning sunlight falling on her face.

Loose strands of hair fell by her ears, with two playful strands resting against her lips. He suddenly wanted to brush away the stray hairs but was afraid of startling her.

"Good morning, Miss Jenkins," Ivan said as he sat down on the sofa. "Let's talk about the new collaboration project."

Camilla inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief. Just now, Ivan stared at her face intently.

She was genuinely worried he might suddenly do something to her again.

Camilla sat down calmly across from Ivan. "This is the preliminary plan, Mr. Winston."

Ivan opened the proposal. He read very quickly, turning a page in just a few seconds, even more exaggerated than reading ten lines at a glance.

In less than three minutes, he had finished the entire proposal.

In a calm voice, he said, "Miss Jenkins, you are indeed excellent. In just a few days, you've come up with such a perfect plan. I'm very satisfied."

Camilla's brow furrowed slightly. "Mr. Winston, did you really read the entire proposal?"

Ivan nodded calmly. "Of course."

"Then what language was used to write the simulation system for this proposal?" Camilla asked, pursing her lips.

Ivan placed the document on the coffee table. Leaning forward, his thin lips parted, his voice low and gentle. "Does that question really matter?"

His scorching breath brushed against Camilla's face.

Camilla leaned back, trying to maintain her composure. "Mr. Winston, you didn't even figure out the basic programming language of the proposal. Should I assume that you aren't really invested in this project?"

Ivan curled his lips into a slight smile. "Does that still count as not being invested with two billion dollars for initial investment?"

Camilla pressed her lips tightly together. With Ivan's attitude, she couldn't see any sign of his dedication.

A two-billion-dollar investment was a huge sum, but Ivan seemed indifferent to it.

"Miss Jenkins, I've made it so obvious. Don't you still understand?"

Camilla was stunned. "What should I understand?"

"I invested this two billion dollars just to have some fun with you," Ivan said leisurely, looking at her with teasing eyes that held a deep, wave-like passion. He continued. "Miss Jenkins, haven't you noticed that I'm pursuing you?"

Camilla sat dumbfounded on the sofa. Although she had long suspected it, hearing Ivan say it so plainly still shocked her.

She opened her mouth but couldn't say anything.

The air grew quiet. She felt Ivan inching closer to her. His long fingers hooked the strands of hair hanging by her ear.

The atmosphere inexplicably became much more ambiguous.
