Chapter 576
"I am busy." A smile tugged at the corner of Martin’s lips. "I have to fly to Eldoria for a business trip this afternoon, and it will be at least half a month before I can come back."
Haley was stunned.
Ivan had to go on a business trip on the first day of their marriage.
If Ivan cared for Haley, he shouldn't be doing this.
"What gift do you want from Eldoria? I'll bring it back for you." Martin touched his thin lips. He had a strong craving for cigarettes and wanted to smoke again.
Haley pursed her lips and said, " Angela will be very sad when she finds out you'll be away on a business trip for half a month."
'Angela?' Angela's figure appeared in Martin's mind.
He had only seen Angela from a distance. He hadn't formally met her since becoming Ivan.
Martin smirked and said, "I'll bring her a gift. She won't be sad."
He suddenly got up and said, "Alright, I'm getting ready to go to the airport. Be careful on your way back."
Martin strode out of the reception room, his gaze cold as he instructed his subordinates to be prepared.
Haley stood in the corridor of the office, her eyes dark.
'Did Ivan stop caring about me because he got me? Or did he never care about me in the first place? Could it be that he married me just for the four children?' Haley thought to herself.
Haley clenched her fingers, a mocking smile deepening at the corner of her mouth.
Before Haley turned eighteen, she had genuinely cared about the Deross family, but she had been deeply hurt later on.
Now, at twenty-three, she had believed Ivan's sweet words. She was too naive.
Haley should have realized long ago that Ivan's feelings for her were just a passing fancy, and she shouldn't have let herself sink into it.
Haley took the elevator downstairs with a vacant gaze, sitting quietly in the car for a long time.
She shouldn't think too pessimistically about things.
It was normal for Ivan to be preoccupied since yesterday's wedding at the Winston Group church. There was also a lot going on at the Winston Group.
Once Ivan returned from work, their life should return to normal.
Haley drove back to the Winston family.
Everything at home was the same as usual.
The four children were awake. Keith and Todd were reading, and Owen and Angela were sitting on the floor playing with toys.

Haley's eyes flickered as she asked, "Keith, did Ivan tell you this over the phone?"
Keith shook his head and replied, "I was just dealing with work, and my assistant told me that. Ivan boarded the plane half an hour ago and will only arrive at his destination tonight. However—
He frowned and said, "The Winston Group's factory in Eldoria is located in the suburbs, and the signal there has always been poor. We might not be able to reach Ivan for a long time."
Angela's eyes welled up with tears as she said, "But I miss Ivan, and I want to call him."
