Chapter 1064

"I don't know anything," Sarah said, trembling.

Ivan didn't care that Sarah was a woman; he directly reached out and twisted Sarah's wrist.

Sarah had dealt with that child, so she had to face retribution.

Sarah screamed in pain, "Is there no law? I'm calling the police."

Haley said, "Fine, call the police. Let them find out about your illegal operations three years ago."

That surgery was done in secret, and everyone involved was paid hush money.

If investigated, evidence would surely be found.

Sarah held her broken wrist, not daring to breathe heavily.

She was certain that if she really refused to talk, the man in front of her might break her legs too.

"The child was already dead when handed to me," Sarah closed her eyes. "When I was about to handle it, the child suddenly cried and came back to life."

Hope blossomed in Haley's eyes.

Her hands trembled with excitement, but she didn't dare interrupt Sarah's narration.

"The child came back to life. I wanted to return it to the Jenkins family, but they were too busy. I waited at the hospital entrance all day but didn't see them. Then I met a couple who needed a daughter. They paid me five thousand dollars and took the child."

"What did you say?" Haley shouted angrily.

Her emotions had gone through a rollercoaster, and her face was extremely cold.

Ivan gently patted her shoulder and said coldly, "Do you remember what that couple looked like?"

Sarah tried to recall, "I just remember the man was tall and had a large black mole on his chin. They gave me five thousand dollars in cash and left with the child."

Haley's head throbbed with pain.

Five thousand dollars to buy her daughter!

Her heart felt like it was shattering!

"Bryan, take Haley outside for some air," Ivan ordered coldly.

Seeing her pale face, Bryan quickly supported her shoulder, "Ivan will handle everything. Let's go for a walk."

Haley really couldn't stay any longer.

She held her temples and followed Bryan to the garden behind the hospital.

"Haley, the child is still alive. That's the best news. Nothing could be better," Bryan comforted. "I heard from Ivan that your blood type is rare. Finding a child with a rare blood type shouldn't be difficult."

A thought flashed through Haley's mind, but she couldn't grasp it.

"I'll contact the DNA database center, Haley. Don't worry anymore," Bryan changed the subject. "By the way, Haley, do you know what Dad has been doing these years? He used the excuse of looking for you to travel the world. He's in Country Y right now. He can't come back to see you because he can't get a flight. He might be back the day after tomorrow."

Haley's mind conjured up an image of Cauth.

They hadn't spent much time together since reuniting four years ago, and they had been apart for four years.

She really wanted to see him again.

Haley and Bryan chatted about the past four years. Before long, Ivan came downstairs.

He pressed his lips tightly and said, "I created a sketch of the couple based on Sarah's description. After inputting it into the database, I found out that the man was a human trafficker. He was caught three years ago, and all the kidnapped children were sent to the orphanage in Brussville."

Haley's mind seemed to explode.

She finally realized what that fleeting thought was.

She grabbed Ivan's hand, "Quick, find Cherry and do a paternity test!"

Haley said with difficulty, filled with hope, but also a bit of unease and fear.

Ivan was stunned.

Cherry, the little girl they had only met once, had eyes that looked a lot like Angela's when she was young, and also like Haley's.

Could Cherry really be their daughter?

Ivan said, "Bryan, take Haley to get a cup of coffee. I'll handle this right away!"
