Chapter 332

"What? Is it really that bad?" Owen inspected the doll from every angle, the result of several sleepless nights of carving. It was so adorable; he didn't understand why no one liked it.

Then, a plump, soft hand reached over and took the doll into a loving embrace.

Angela blinked, her pink lips curving into a smile, and she tucked the doll into her little backpack.

Owen finally cheered up. "See, Angela does like the little gift I gave her!"

Haley couldn't help but laugh.

These four kids standing together somehow looked right, as if nothing else in life mattered.

As long as the children laughed with joy, her life felt complete.

As she watched them laugh, she felt someone's gaze fall on her.

Ivan's gaze held a tenderness he hadn't even noticed himself.

Suddenly, he wished time would freeze in this moment.

Haley felt a burning stare and looked up to find herself locked in the man's dark, night-like eyes.

His eyes were deep and fathomless, like an ancient well, exuding a magnetic pull that made her yearn to dive into their depths.

She was curious about the emotions hidden within those eyes.

Their gazes remained intertwined for an extended period.

"Shh!" Owen placed a finger to his lips, gesturing for Angela and their older brother to step back several paces.

In an excited whisper, he said, "This must be what the books describe as unspoken affection, secret glances of love. Let's not disturb Father and Haley while they are having their romantic moment..."

Keith silently took a step back.

Ivan and Haley's eye contact didn't seem typical of lovers.

Todd stood beside Haley, his thin lips tight, his eyes dark with stormy thoughts.

He wondered if Haley wanted something more from Ivan after knowing that he was their biological father.

If that was the case, he almost wished he hadn't told Haley the truth.

Todd, deep in thought, clenched his small hand tighter.

"Angela, do you want your mommy to marry my dad?" Owen whispered persuasively to Angela, "If your mom and my dad get married, you can call him 'Daddy' openly. Won't that make you happy?"

The little girl's eyes shone with anticipation.

Owen persisted, "Angela, do you know what happens next in TV shows when they reach this point?"

Angela shook her head. She rarely watched television, let alone romantic dramas.

Owen blinked and said, "At this moment, the crowd watching starts to shout 'Kiss! Kiss!' Then your mom and my dad would share a kiss, and that would mean they could be together and get married! And then we'd all have both a mom and a dad!"

Angela's eyes sparkled even brighter, as if light had shattered in her pupils.

She turned her head, parted her lips, and suddenly exclaimed, "Kiss!"

Owen was stunned.

He was speaking offhand; he didn't expect Angela to take it so literally.
