Chapter 428

Haley thought he was talking in his sleep.
She squatted down and said, "Come on, Owen, I’ll will carry you to bed..."
"No, I want milk, I'm so hungry, I want milk..." Owen clung to Haley's neck and kept fussing. "I brought the milk powder, it's in the suitcase. Mommy, I want milk..."
It didn't seem like he was dreaming.
Haley walked over to the suitcase and saw a can of milk powder inside.
Owen was already four and a half years old. He should have been too old to want milk in the middle of the night.
Keith came out when he heard the crying; with sleepy eyes, he said, "Mommy, Owen drinks a bottle of milk at night; the bottle is also in the suitcase."
"I understand. You go back to sleep."
Haley patted Keith's head and carried the crying and fussing Owen to prepare the milk powder.
She made a large bottle, and in less than five minutes, the child had gulped it all down.
She finally understood what Ivan meant. With Owen around, she really couldn't sleep peacefully.
But so what?
This was what she owed Owen, after all.
Owen woke up in the morning and saw Haley's serene face. He thought he was hallucinating, but when he touched her face and she didn't disappear, he realized it was real.
He exclaimed, "Wow, it's really you, Mom!" He couldn't believe that he had slept in the same bed as his mother all night. Owen felt like the luckiest child in the world.
Haley, who had just woken up, asked why he was laughing so early in the morning. Owen blushed and said he couldn't believe he had slept in the same bed as his mom, and he was really happy.
Haley assured him that he would have more opportunities like this in the future and urged him to get up.
Owen quickly got dressed and went to the next room. He excitedly told Keith that he had slept in their mom’s bed last night.
Todd, who overheard the conversation, also expressed his joy and said that he must be their mom's favorite must be him because he was the cutest and most handsome out of all of them. Both Keith and Todd glanced at Owen.
Owen then ran into Angela's room and shared the news with her. Angela gently replied that their mom said children over three years old who still sleep with adults were not well-behaved.
Owen was taken aback and asked if he was not a well-behaved child. Angela nodded firmly and said that was what their mom had said.
Haley, who had entered the room, laughed and assured Owen that he was the best behaved out of all of them, but he needed to stop the habit of drinking milk late at night.
Owen pouted and said he was hungry when he woke up at midnight. Haley advised him to eat more at night but reminded him that not brushing his teeth after drinking milk could lead to tooth decay.
Owen covered his mouth in horror. Haley was about to continue lecturing him when her phone vibrated in her pocket.
