Chapter 742
"Haley, that's awesome."
Thomas was genuinely happy for Haley.
During this time, Haley seemed like a wilting flower, lacking her usual vibrancy. Despite her efforts to carry on, Thomas saw a sense of despair weighed heavily on her spirit.
But now, he saw a spark of hope in her eyes again.
He also finally understood what Ivan meant to Haley.
"But he can't leave yet," Haley sighed softly. "Given his current situation, the mess in Hinterlands, and those who watched his every move closely, he can't just leave easily. My current plan is to help Ivan get his memory back first and then handle other things step by step."
"That is right! I almost forgot!" Thomas slapped his forehead. "Pitt just arrived."
He quickly led Haley inside.
Haley looked towards the living room and saw Pitt lying on the sofa, wrapped in bandages.
Last week, Martin's guys had beaten Pitt up at the hospital. He hadn't recovered yet.
Haley felt bad. "Why'd you bring Pitt here again?"
"There are less than ten top hypnotists in the world. Most work for the military or are hired by royalty and the rich. Pitt's the only free agent," Thomas whispered. "That Katherine is too annoying. I guess you don't want me to call her over, do you?"
"Haley, you have to reward me well," Pitt groaned from the sofa. "Because of you, I probably won't be able to work for half a year."
Keith popped a grape into Pitt's mouth. "I'll feed you every meal from now on."
Todd said calmly, "I'll help you bathe."
Angela leaned in. "I'll comb your hair and apply fragrant lotion for you."
"Then I'll give you a massage. Hope you get better soon." With that, Owen started massaging Pitt's leg.
Pitt quickly pulled his leg back. "Haley, your kids are here to torture me!"
Haley sat on the opposite sofa, pursed her lips, and asked, "Pitt, if someone's memory is sealed by hypnosis, how hard is it to unlock it?"
"It's hard to say," Pitt replied seriously. "It depends on the skill of the hypnotist and the willpower of the person. Let me meet your husband, and we'll see."
Haley nodded. "I'll bring him over in the next couple of days."
As they were talking, Karl rushed in. "Something happened again!"
Haley looked up. "What happened?"
"The armory was bombed. We don't know if Leonardo was hurt."
As soon as Karl finished, everyone turned on the TV.
The news was on.
"Two of Isabel's guards were shot dead by Leonardo, escalating the conflict between Quillan and Leonardo."
"Quillan and Anthony were transporting arms when Leonardo intercepted them. They clashed, igniting a lot of ammo, causing an explosion with unknown casualties."
"This conflict has split the public: one-third support Quillan, one-third support Leonardo, and the rest are either undecided or have left Hinterlands. Neighboring countries are seeing an influx of refugees, threatening social security..."
