Chapter 677
Haley strode into the mansion with Angela in her arms, slamming the door behind her.
Martin got up from the swing, sneering with a hint of arrogance.
He had already lowered his dignity by coming here voluntarily, yet Haley still dared to give him a cold look.
Haley carried Angela inside, glaring coldly at Thomas, who was playing games in the living room. "Why did you let him in?"
Thomas scratched his head innocently. "Angela wanted to see her daddy, and her daddy wanted to see his daughter. I couldn't stop him as an outsider."
He then tiptoed to look out the window and lowered his voice, "But Haley, I think his attitude seems pretty good today. He might be here to apologize. Don't soften up and forgive him. Remember what he did to hurt you. A man's betrayal once means there could be a second time. Don't let his temporary good attitude blind you."
"Uncle Thomas, what does betrayal mean?" Angela asked, blinking her eyes in confusion.
Haley shot Thomas a fierce glare, handed Angela to him, and said coldly, "Take care of the child. I'm going out to talk to him."
She opened the mansion door and walked out.
The four kids quickly ran to the balcony window, their bright eyes watching Haley and Martin in the yard.
"What are you here for?" Haley asked coldly, lowering her voice.
Martin put one hand in his pocket and smirked. "Didn't you say that once I dealt with Katherine, youcould return to the Winston family?"
Haley's eyes flickered. "How did you handle it?"
"I told her to leave. She didn't want to, but I had Robert personally take her to the airport." Martin glanced at his watch. "In an hour, she'll be out of Watertown, and she'll never appear in front of you again. Are you satisfied?"
Haley frowned. "If you can force her to leave, she might sneak back to Watertown one day. I'm not worried about her being with you; I'm worried about she'll harm the children out of desperation."
Martin felt frustrated.
Back when Haley didn't know he was an imposter, she was ruthless towards Katherine.
Now that she knew he wasn't Ivan, she didn't care about what he did with other women.
"Don't worry, she won't come back," Martin said sullenly. "Alfred has prepared dinner. Come back with the kids."
The sunset's glow softened the harshness on Martin's face.
In this moment, Haley almost thought he was just an ordinary husband pleading for his wife to come home.
But she knew clearly that Martin was far from ordinary people; he even killed many people.
"I want to see Katherine one last time," Haley said calmly. "Unless she personally promises me she'll never return to Watertown, I won't be at peace."
Martin frowned. "She's boarding soon."
"Then let's go now," Haley said calmly. "If you don't agree to this, I won't return to the Winston family."
Martin was silent.
Haley was taking advantage of his feelings for her, making such unreasonable demands, but he had no choice.
Martin knew Haley's heart belonged to Ivan, but Ivan was just a dead man.
In the long time to come, and he believed that one day he would replace Ivan in her heart.
"Fine, I'll take you to see Katherine."
