266Owen’s Determination

She was determined to be Mrs. Winston.

Emily wiped her tears and stared blankly at the bustling traffic.

Becoming Mrs. Winston was easier said than done.

She was utterly powerless now.

There was nothing she could do.

Then, her phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID. It was Alice.

Every Saturday afternoon, Alice would give her a personal lesson.

However, now that Ivan had expelled her from the Winston family and her piano was destroyed, she assumed that Alice must be calling to cancel her lesson.

Taking a deep breath, Emily answered the call.

"Emily, good news!" Alice sounded pleasantly excited, "I've been invited to be a live coach for a piano tour, and I can use my privileges to let one of my students perform. Your piano skills are impressive, and I would like to invite you to join me on this tour."

Emily blinked in surprise. "Me?"

"Yes, you. I promised Mr. Keith to prioritize your training, and this is an excellent opportunity for you," Alice said with a smile. "The tour will take place internationally over five shows, with industry moguls in attendance. It's a perfect chance to build your reputation..."

Emily's grip on her phone tightened.

This was the path Keith had laid out for her.

Once she made her mark in the piano world, Keith would help her join the Winston family.

However…

"Emily, can you hear me?" Alice's words hung in the air without response, prompting her to raise her voice a touch louder.

"Yes," she finally replied after a pause, feigning excitement. "Ms. Alice, please send me the exact time and address. I'll be there."

Opportunity had come knocking, and Emily wasn't about to let it slip by.

If she could make a name for herself in the piano world, maybe Ivan would start seeing her differently.

This was her last shot.

She had to break into those exclusive piano circles, no matter what.

...

Fifty minutes later than planned, courtesy of Emily, Keith finally arrived at the Winston residence.

No sooner had he parked his car than he saw Haley's car pulling away.

He had missed her by just a minute.

"Keith, why are you only back now?" Owen grumbled as he approached.

Angela had been downcast all evening, not sparing even a glance. He had been hoping for Keith to return and turn the tide.

Yet, Keith arrived just as Angela left.

Keith ignored him, directing the movers to bring the piano into the mansion.

Owen frowned deeply. "Keith, are you out of your mind? Why are you buying another piano for that wicked witch? I forbid you to bring that piano into the house..."

Keith cast a cold glance at him. "It's a gift for Angela."

Owen's eyes lit up. "Whoa, you got Angela a piano? This one's even better than the last. It must've cost a fortune! How much? I'll pay you half, and we can say the gift is from both of us!"

"This is a personal gift for Angela, and it's none of your business," responded Keith coldly. "Leave it here, thanks."

After the movers had set the piano in place, they left.

Owen, staring at his older brother, expressed his dissatisfaction. "I knew Angela first. If anyone should be giving her a gift, it should be me. Why do you get to do it alone?"

"If you want to give something, that's your business. Go buy it yourself," Keith replied indifferently, heading upstairs.

Owen was left speechless.

He wouldn't be having such conversations if he had money.

His brother just had the advantage of managing a company and a bank account.

Tomorrow, he would have his father give him company, too. He would sell it on the sly and then buy gifts for Angela and Haley...
