Chapter 262 Unveiling Bonds

Angela lowered her gaze and sighed again.

Shock covered Todd's face.

His sister was not one to lie, and she seldom communicated with others. If she did, it meant it was something she truly wanted to say. She wasn't lying.

It meant Owen was definitely Emily’s son.

Emily—their mother's greatest enemy.

So, Owen was the son of mom’s nemesis.

No wonder Angela had changed her stance toward Owen so suddenly.

Todd finally understood the bigger picture. Owen and Keith were Emily's sons.

He couldn't grasp the truth.

The usually calm and collected Todd was visibly shaken and could not hide his shock.

"What happened?" Ivan also noticed the tension among the children. He didn't want to interfere, but he saw Todd’s distressed expression.

The kid was smart and resilient, not the kind to lose his composure easily.

Ivan wondered if Owen had did something unforgivable to Angela.

Ivan walked over, frowning.

Todd pushed back the shock, lifted his head, and his dark eyes fixed intently on the man before him.

If this man was his and Angela’s biological father, that would mean Owen and Keith were his and Angela's half-brothers.

This meant that five years ago, Ivan fathered children with two daughters from the DeRoss family.

A cold glint began to settle in Todd’s eyes.

Ivan paused.

Just moments ago, the child had shown him kindness. Now, his gaze suddenly turned frigid.

That look in Todd's eyes was deep and cold, like the ice of midwinter.

Ivan knew Todd was clever, and no matter what he asked, he wouldn't reveal anything.

He bent slightly, arms open wide for the little girl. "Come here, let me give you a hug."

The girl's face, previously etched with worry, brightened at the sight of Ivan, and she launched herself into his embrace.

Ivan hoisted her into the air, eliciting peals of tinkling laughter before she fell back into his arms.

Todd's frown deepened.

His sister only knew that Owen was Emily's son, so she kept her distance from Owen.

How had it not occurred to anyone to question why Emily's son was calling Ivan 'Daddy'.

Angela was simply too naive.

"Daddy, I want to be lifted too!" Owen rushed over, forgetting his recent upset and tugging at Ivan's arm, eager to join in the fun.

Ivan shot him a glance. "You're getting pretty big for this, aren't you? Isn't it a little childish?"

Owen was at a loss for words. He was only four years old, the same as little Angela. Yet, him wanting to be tossed in the air was considered childish.

Moreover, when he was two or three, his father had never played with him..

Owen's lips pouted in a sullen frown, as if the sky had come crashing down.

After a few more lifts and seeing Angela's mood hadn't improved, Ivan finally cradled her in his arms and asked softly, "Angie, is there something that's making you sad?"

As soon as he asked, Angela's fleeting smile collapsed, revealing her unhappiness in her downturned eyes and furrowed brows.
