Chapter 1013
Ivan leaned forward slightly.
With deep eyes fixed on Camilla in front of him, he slowly began. "Since you chose to cooperate with the Winston Group, you must have looked into my background, right?"
Camilla didn't deny it. "There are news reports online about your divorce. Is it true?"
"It depends on you," Ivan's voice was emotional. "We haven't officially divorced, but we've been separated for four years. What do you think that means?"
Camilla didn't want to delve too much into Ivan's marital issues.
She pressed her lips together and continued. "According to you, your daughter hasn't seen her mother for four years either?"
Ivan looked at her, momentarily at a loss for words. He didn't know what to say or how to make up for the four years of separation and pain.
He didn't want to lie. One lie after another would only push Haley further away. But he couldn't tell the whole truth either.
He was sinking deeper into a vortex of contradiction.
When Camilla first looked into Ivan's eyes, she thought they were like cold blades, sharp and chilling.
Instead, his eyes seemed like a lake hiding mountains and seas now, more like a magnet pulling her in deeply.
Ivan moved closer to her, his slender fingers covering her face. His face slowly approached hers.
Camilla's breath was caught, and she felt incredibly tense. She wanted to push Ivan away, but she couldn't muster any strength.
In that moment of hesitation, Ivan's lips covered hers, and his cold lips instantly turned scorching hot.
Ivan kissed Camilla aggressively and dominantly, taking the air from her mouth slowly. She was almost suffocating, like a fish stranded on the shore, which was close to death.
Just moments ago, Ivan was talking about his wife and daughter. How did things escalate to this?
Thinking of these, it was as if a bucket of cold water was poured over Camilla's head.
She instantly snapped back to reality, lifted her foot, and kicked Ivan hard in the abdomen.
Camilla quickly stood up and took a step back. "Mr. Winston, please be polite!"
Ivan wiped the lipstick off his thin lips, his voice extremely hoarse. "Miss Jenkins, may I call you Camilla?"
"No." Camilla was as cold and hard as ice. "If this happens again, I'll have to accuse you of sexual harassment."
With that, she stormed out of the lounge. How could she let herself get caught up in this!
Ivan was a married man with a child. Was she crazy to let Ivan kiss her for so long?
Camilla wiped her lips forcefully, only to find that they were a bit swollen.
She quickly took out a small mirror from her bag and checked. They were indeed swollen, and her lipstick was smudged.
She had come to the party tonight for a very important matter, but now nothing could be discussed.
Camilla rarely got this angry. Even when Nicole ostracized her, she couldn't act fiercely like this. But now...
She angrily glanced back at the lounge and left through the side door.
The party had just begun. A car stopped at the entrance of the banquet hall, and as the door opened, Nicole stepped out.
She was wearing an off-shoulder gown in a soft blue color, the dress eye-catching in its pinkish hue. The most striking feature was the necklace around her neck.
