Chapter 375 Crisis at DeRoss Group

Angela couldn't shake off the worry when the man failed to pick her up from preschool. Was something critical unfolding, possibly related to Mr. DeRoss and Flora or still linked to Emily's turmoil?

Without delving into the specifics, she instructed, "When you're free, contact Keith and find out his whereabouts."

With that, she ended the call abruptly.

At DeRoss Group headquarters, Mr. DeRoss and Flora observed helplessly as the company's stock plummeted, spiraling into a freefall with no apparent solution in sight.

"Ivan, the DeRoss Group can't endure such a blow. Please, show some mercy..." Mr. DeRoss's facade of indifference crumbled. The trajectory suggested bankruptcy and liquidation if the trend persisted.

Ivan's smile took on a chilling edge. "You're still putting up a fight?"

Flora, weary against her desk, seemed on the verge of collapse. Trembling lips uttered, "Ivan, despite everything, Emily cared for Keith and Owen for four years. Even if she has no claim, her efforts shouldn't be disregarded. Spare the DeRoss family, please..."

Ivan's smile vanished instantly. He rose abruptly, his gaze intense. "Are you implying you were aware of the switch that happened four years ago?"

Flora, under the weight of his scrutiny, faltered, unable to form words.

Gathering his resolve, Mr. DeRoss spoke, "We believed Haley had passed four years ago.

Unable to see the children without a mother, we devised that plan... but Keith and Owen are of DeRoss lineage. By targeting the DeRoss Group, aren't you concerned about alienating the kids?"

Ivan's bitter laugh echoed. "My sons carry Haley's blood; she's their biological mother!" he declared coldly, "And you, the DeRoss family, nearly drove my children's true mother to her demise. Who do you think the children will feel betrayed by?"

He sneered, "You should be grateful Haley holds shares in the DeRoss Group; otherwise, it would vanish from Cuenca tonight."

Despair overwhelmed Mr. DeRoss as he slumped on the couch.

Terror gripped Flora; she was certain Ivan's retribution wouldn't stop there.

The buzzing of her phone shattered the tense atmosphere.

A quick glance at the caller ID—Emily—made Flora's heart race, and she hastily declined the call.

Ivan noticed the flashing name and chuckled. "Go on, answer it. I'm curious to see how mother and daughter plan to deceive me this time."

Four years of deceit fueled Ivan's wrath; he wouldn't let the DeRoss family off easily.

Though she had just hung up, Emily's relentless calls forced Flora to answer, her hands trembling.

"Mom, you have to sell everything now and send me a hundred million dollars. I need to leave the country..." Emily's voice quivered with desperation.

Flora's heart sank with each word.

Ivan must have found her daughter. What horrors had he inflicted on Emily?

"Mom, are you listening?"

"Emily, Ivan—he's right here..." Flora's voice shook. "We can't sell anymore; the stock has tanked."

"What?!"

Emily's shock reverberated.

Against the car's cold metal, Emily felt an internal chill surpassing the winter breeze.

Ivan was ruthless, intent on crushing her and the DeRoss Group without mercy.

"Emily, go. Escape as far as you can. Don't ever return to the DeRoss family," Flora urged through the phone.
