Chapter 830
Haley took a sip of her champagne, really enjoying the fancy drink.
The party was winding down.
When Cauth offered to give her a ride home, she just smiled and said, "Nah, Ivan's waiting for me outside. You should go chat with Grandpa; he's been eyeing you."
Cauth glanced back and saw Bark staring at him. He sighed, "Alright, be safe getting home. Shoot me a text when you get there."
Haley nodded happily, lifted her dress, and headed out of the banquet hall.
By now, most of the guests had already bounced. Just as she got to the door, someone stepped in her way.
She raised an eyebrow. "Ava, what's your deal?"
Ava gritted her teeth. "Haley, you're always messing with me, aren't you?"
Haley smirked. "I have no clue what you're talking about."
"You stole Thomas from me, and now you're gunning for the heir spot?" Ava snapped, "If you don't back off, I'll spill your dirty secrets."
Haley almost laughed, "Using the same old trick you pulled on Bryan? That's pretty lame. Bryan's young and easy to scare, but I'm not gonna fold that easily."
Ava held up a printed photo and said firmly, "You cheated while married and shacked up with your lover. If this photo gets out, the Winston family will kick you to the curb."
The photo, clearly taken by Ava, showed the backs of Haley and Ivan.
Maybe Ava needed glasses or something because she totally mistook Ivan for someone else.
Haley chuckled, "Do whatever you want."
With that, she lifted her dress and walked out of the banquet hall.
Ava stomped her foot in frustration.
It was the only way to control Bryan, and she didn't dare to expose the photo. If it got out, Bryan would definitely run to Bark and whine!
Ava went back to the banquet hall.
The guests were gone, leaving just the Lumi family.
Bark's face was serious as he stared at Cauth, "Was this your idea?"
"Haley's amazing and perfect to be the Lumi heir," Cauth didn't deny it and said calmly, "She started and runs her own company, merged with the DeRoss Group, and now Star Technical Company is making waves in Watertown. Her business skills are top-notch."
"But she's a bit of a scandal," Hollis said flatly, "If an illegitimate daughter were to be the heir, people would think the Lumi family is falling apart."
Cauth's gaze turned icy. "People will still talk if Ava becomes the heir."
Hollis had no comeback.
Ava, realizing being tough wasn't working, switched to playing the victim. "Uncle Cauth, now that your own daughter is back, you don't love me anymore?"
"Haley is family. If you respect her, I'll naturally love you too," Cauth said indifferently.
Ava clenched her fists in anger.
Haley was such a snake. Not only did she steal Thomas, but she also turned her family upside down!
She was determined to be Haley's enemy!
If Haley wanted to compete for the heir spot, Ava would rather see them both lose than let that witch Haley win!
