Brenda kept talking, and the morning passed quickly.
Haley listened to Brenda's chatter, but scenes from last night kept flashing through her mind.
For some reason, the feeling of unease in her heart grew stronger.
Haley smiled. "Is Ivan at the company? I want to go have lunch with him."
"You newlyweds are so sweet," Brenda teased. "I wanted you to have lunch with me too."
Haley looked apologetic and said, "I have something important to discuss with Ivan, so I have to have dinner with you later."
Brenda said, "Well, you go ahead and drive safely."
Brenda stood at the door, watching Haley drive away, a hint of worry creeping into her eyes.
Haley's journey to the Winston Group was smooth, and she soon arrived at the entrance.
After the wedding of the Winston Group CEO yesterday, everyone in the city knew that the Deross family's daughter was now the lady of the Winston Group.
As soon as Haley stepped into the lobby, the receptionist respectfully escorted her to the elevator.
The receptionist said, "This elevator goes directly to the CEO's office."
After thanking her, Haley stepped into the elevator.
This wasn't Haley's first time at the Winston Group CEO's office, but she felt more burdened than ever before.
Haley exited the elevator and stood in the corridor, making her way toward the CEO's office.
The office door was ajar, so she could clearly see what was happening inside.
Several senior executives were reporting their work.
"Ivan, this is the profit report for last quarter; please review it."
"Ivan, this project needs your signature to proceed; please sign here."
"Ivan, there's an issue with the Eldoria project; we need to send a senior executive to plan and reorganize. Who do you want to send?"
Piles of work were stacked on the desk, accumulated due to the wedding.
Haley stood at the door, quietly took a few steps back, and entered the meeting room.
She took a sip of coffee, her mind filled with various thoughts.
At some point in the past, Haley had feelings for Ivan, but the strange sensation from last night, along with the resistance rising from within, left her unsure of what to do.
Haley would marry someone because she loved them, but she would also leave swiftly if she no longer felt the same.
She was here today to figure out where this strange feeling was coming from.
After waiting for almost half an hour, Ivan finally pushed the door to the meeting room open and walked in.
He loosened his tie, casually sat on the sofa, crossed his long legs, and placed them on the table.
Ivan smirked and said, "What brings you here?"
Haley's gaze fell on Ivan.
In her mind, Ivan had always been elegant and noble. He exuded a noble elegance in everything he did.
But now, Ivan seemed like a street thug. He lacked the aristocratic demeanor in both posture and tone of speech.
Suddenly, Haley felt she had gotten the wrong idea about him.
This man, who was so elegant and noble, also behaved like a rascal in bed.
He shamelessly called her "Darling" and would playfully ask for a kiss.
Ivan had many facets, and unfortunately, Haley had only seen this side of him today.
"Are you very busy with work?" Haley asked slowly.
