Chapter 970
Patrick squinted at the lush vines in the yard.
Back in the day, the Jenkins Family did owe Camilla, so when Samantha wanted to adopt her, he agreed.
But after three years with Camilla, he realized she wasn't easy to control.
Sometimes, during family meetings, when he caught Camilla's eye, he felt a bit uneasy.
"That kid is gone. We need to get her married off and have another baby. Once she's focused on a new child, she won't dwell on the past," Patrick said coldly. "Nicole's two distant cousins who are both currently on the lookout for a date.. How about we marry Camilla to one of them?"
Samantha hesitated. "This..."
"Once she has a kid for the Jenkins Family, she won't go against us," Patrick said slowly. "You should set it up."
Samantha paused again. Those two young masters of the Jenkins Family weren't a match for Camilla at all.
The only one in all of Brussville who was worthy of Camilla was Bradley. However, after Camilla showed her medical report, Ellen would never agree to Camilla marrying Bradley.
"If Camilla finds out the truth, Nicole will be the first to suffer. Think it over!"
With that, Patrick went back to his study.
Samantha held her head, full of unease.
Camilla drove to the seaside.
Brussville was a coastal city, and its entire coastline hadn't been developed much.
She walked on the pebble-covered beach, staring into the distance.
She had checked the map; across the sea was the international city Watertown. Samantha said she might be from Watertown and had washed ashore in Brussville.
But from Watertown to Brussville, it was a long way. A normal person would have likely died being swept so far by the waves.
She was lucky to have survived, but what about her child?
Camilla closed her eyes, trying to suppress the pain in her heart.
In another week, she would be going on a business trip to Watertown. Maybe walking around that city would help her recall some of her past memories.
After an hour by the sea, Camilla drove back to the city.
Three years ago, she discovered her talent for programming online and landed a job as a programmer. Within two months, her excellent work earned her a promotion to technical manager. After six months, she saved enough money to start her own studio.
In just over two years, her studio thrived and became one of the leading companies in the internet industry in Brussville.
Camilla parked her car at the entrance of the building and got out with her car keys.
As she walked to the plaza in front of the office building, she noticed a large group of bodyguards escorting a little girl out of the building.
People around were talking.
"That's the piano prodigy Angela Winston. She's only nine and has already completed a world tour."
"Why would such an amazing girl be in Brussville?"
"Her teacher Nathan, the master featured in music textbooks, retired here. She must be visiting him."
"Yeah, when Nathan moved to Brussville three years ago, it was in the news."
"My mom always wanted me to study under Nathan, but there's no way he'd take someone like me."
Hearing the chatter, Camilla also stopped and looked. In the middle of a dozen black-clad bodyguards stood a beautiful girl.
