Chapter 682

Martin followed Haley's suggestion. "Since everything is settled, you should move back to the Winston family tonight."

Haley opened the door and got in. As she fastened her seatbelt, she paused and then said, "It's really late now. If I pack and move right now, it will be past eleven by the time we're done. We can stay up late, but the four kids can't. Don't be so indifferent just because they're not your own kids."

Haley's tone carried a hint of reproach, a kind of emotion that fascinated Martin.

Martin couldn't quite describe his feelings, but he enjoyed hearing Haley talk to him.

He gripped the steering wheel and asked while driving, "By the way, what did you and Katherine talk about alone?"

Martin was asking casually, without any other intention, but to Haley, it sounded like he was probing.

She didn't dare to show too much emotion and snorted, "Why are you so curious about women's conversation?"

Martin chuckled. "Alright, forget it."

"Come over tomorrow afternoon to help me move," Haley continued. "Don't come too early. If you wake Angela up, she'll act up all day."

"Alright, I'll do as you say."

Martin held the steering wheel, his eyes not on the road ahead but glancing lightly at Haley beside him.

This quiet, tranquil time was something he had never experienced before.

Martin finally understood why many of his brothers wanted to quit and even escape. It was because the ordinary life outside was truly nice.

Even Haley's casual complaints made him feel reluctant to part.

Martin really wanted her to move back today.

But he didn't dare to push her.

Haley's attitude had finally improved a bit; she had finally put away her defenses, and she was finally willing to talk to him calmly.

The car soon stopped in front of the mansion.

Haley unfastened her seatbelt and got out the car, then waved at the door. "See you tomorrow."

After that, she turned to go inside.

Martin's heart stirred, and he also got out of the car, walking straight towards Haley. "Don't move."

Haley stood still, her body tense.

Martin reached out and removed a loose strand of hair from her face. "You can go in now."

"Thank you."

Haley said softly and was about to turn around when Martin followed her again.

"Wait a minute."

Martin's Adam's apple bobbed.

He looked at her flawless face and suddenly felt a rush of heat.

Martin remembered their wedding night when he had been dismissive of Haley and had no intention of touching Ivan's wife.

But in just a month, no, in less than ten days, he had developed a desire to possess Haley.

Martin lowered his head, his lips slowly approaching Haley's face.

Haley narrowed her eyes and quickly dodged. She raised her hand to straighten his tie. "It's late. You should go back. Remember to come pick the children and me up tomorrow."
