Chapter290

"Grab the advertising signs we prepared a couple of days ago and come with me," Haley instructed calmly. "And have someone bring down a table, too."

Ariana gasped. "Haley, what are you planning?"

"We have called big media outlets for press conferences, but they never show up. Now that they're here, it would be a shame not to take advantage," Haley said, her smile slight as she stepped into the elevator with poise.

Ariana breathed a sigh of relief. Although Star Technical Company wasn't a public conglomerate, bad publicity didn't significantly impact the business. Still, it was a headache to be hounded by the press.

She worried Haley would be disheartened, but it turned out her boss saw an opportunity in the predicament.

No wonder Haley had established her own company at such a young age. Her courage and vision were beyond the ordinary.

When the company staff had set up the tables and chairs, along with the company's banners, Haley stepped out into the view of the reporters with Ariana.

Dozens of journalists crowded forward.

Unruffled, Haley walked to the table and stood behind it.

Ariana pulled out a chair, and Haley sat down gracefully. "Please, there's no need to rush. Questions will be answered one by one."

She glanced at her wristwatch. "It's only a little past nine in the morning. I've got two hours to chat with you all."

Hearing this, the reporters exchanged looks.

Typically, public figures entangled in negative news would hide, dreading the reporters' relentless queries.

Yet, here was Haley, willingly coming forward, even offering to talk for hours.

They wondered if this was her tactic to use this situation to her advantage and force Jeremy's wife into divorce.

The reporters smelled a more sensational story brewing and passed their microphones forward. Their camera flashes firing continuously.

"Haley, there are rumors online that you have twins, a boy and a girl. Is that true?"

"Haley, is it true that the father of the twins is Mr. Jeremy, the CEO of Chase Group?" a reporter asked.

"Haley, has Mrs. Jeremy reached out to you yet?"

"Haley..." Question after question were thrown at her.

Haley, unruffled, picked up a microphone and said coolly, "I say, take it easy. what's the rush?"

A single icy glare from her was like the flash of a blade cutting through the commotion.

The babbling reporters instantly fell silent, not daring to utter another word.

"I do indeed have two children. I must admit that much," Haley's voice was steady and calm, "But the children's father is not Jeremy."

"Haley, you're lying! There's evidence online of lawsuits between you and Mr. Jeremy for custody of the kids!"

"That's right, and there's also a photo of you two in a confrontation at a preschool entrance. That's not something you can deny just like that!"

"Haley, the public is not so easily fooled."
