Chapter 998
Back at home, Camilla headed straight to her room and started packing her clothes.
Samantha pushed the door open and sighed, "Camilla, are you really not going to stay home for the last two weeks in Brussville?"
"I'm moving to the office to handle company stuff," Camilla replied, not even looking up from her packing.
With the Jenkins family's big mess sorted out, she had no reason to stick around and risk getting caught up in more drama.
"Alright, I won't stop you," Samantha said with a bitter smile. "But before you go, I have a few things for you."
She went back to her room and returned with a wooden box.
Camilla recognized it; the earrings Samantha had given her a couple of days ago were in the same box.
"These are a pair of bracelets and a necklace. Take them," Samantha said, shoving the box into Camilla's arms. "They're priceless, so take good care of them."
These items were tied to Camilla's background. This was all Samantha could do for her. What the Jenkins owed her could never truly make amends.
Camilla glanced at the items in the box; the emerald green bracelets were clearly worth a fortune, at least a few million dollars.
As for the necklace, its design was attractive, but the material looked pretty cheap.
The necklace didn't seem to belong with the bracelets. But since these were gifts from Samantha, how could she be picky?
Camilla smiled and said, "Thank you, Mother."
Outside the door, Nicole walked by, looking guilty.
The real Heart of the Ocean necklace was in her hands. She had thought the expensive necklace didn't suit Camilla, so she secretly swapped it out.
But Nicole didn't dare to wear the real one openly.
"I have something for you too," Nicole said, walking in with a guilty look. "This is a limited edition bag I bought last month but never used. Take it so you won't be embarrassed."
It was indeed a limited edition luxury bag, probably worth around three hundred thousand dollars. Nicole giving her such a bag was a bit surprising.
"Thank you."
Camilla put the bag in her suitcase.
Only then did Nicole feel a bit less guilty. She was giving her a bag in return for taking her necklace.
Camilla zipped up her suitcase and stood up, saying, "Mother, I'm heading to the company now."
Samantha reluctantly held Camilla's hand. "Even though you're moving out, you can always come back home anytime."
Camilla nodded in agreement.
Just as she reached the door, a servant hurried in to report, "Mrs. Jenkins, Mrs. Reynolds and Mr. Bradley Reynolds are here."
