Chapter 69 Child?

"Mrs. Winston, Louis, Mr. Miller, do you have any further questions?"
Haley sat down, her expression open, as she and coldly scanned the three people in front of her.

Louis stroked his chin, "“Although I don'’t understand many of the terms you mentioned, it appears quite professional, precisely because I don't understand. So, I have no objections from my side."

"Ms. DeRoss, you truly live up to the title of a chip designer." Mark sincerely gave her a thumbs-up. "With you joining our A-F project, I believe this car will definitely be launched on schedule."

Ivan nodded nonchalantly, "“Let'’s sign the contract."”

Mark took out the contract he carried with him, with a few spots still empty - profit distribution and signature spaces.

Louis spoke first, "The profits of the project will be evenly distributed among the three family companies we represent. Now that Ms. DeRoss has joined, let's allocate the remaining ten percent to her."

For such a large-scale project, a ten percent profit share was actually quite high.
Haley, was about to agree, when Ivan interrupted, "Four individuals, each with twenty-five percent."

Louis wore an incredulous expression, "Each of us has invested at least one billion US dollars, and she, with just her chip design, gets to take a quarter of the profit? That's incredibly unfair."

"If it weren't for Ms. DeRoss, this project would have been shelved." Ivan calmly stated, "Louis, you can choose to withdraw, if you’d like.?"
Louis fell silent.

Mark touched his nose, "Ivan makes a valid point. Each person gets twenty-five percent, and Ms. DeRoss will be considered a technical shareholder. That's settled then, sign the document."

He forcefully placed the pen in Louis's hand.
Grumbling and muttering, Louis reluctantly signed his name.
Haley smiled slightly, her peripheral vision occasionally catching Ivan's approving glance.
On Ivan.

This man, she thought, was truly unexpected for her.

It surprised herher that he, took the initiative to come, and talk to her about cooperation, and even willingly gave her a quarter of the profits.

Did he value her as a partner this much?

As Haley pondered, the contract had already been signed.

The most unhappy person at the negotiation table was Louis, who had been beaten today and lost a significant portion of the profit.

Leaning against the sofa, he sneered, "Ms. DeRoss, you are the biggest winner today. It wouldn't be fair if you don't treat us to a meal, right?"

"I will treat you all to a meal, the next time we have the opportunity. It's already half-past five, and I need to pick up my child from preschool," Haley replied while tidying up her things.

Louis suddenly froze, "Child? Didn't your child die four years ago?"

The news stated that she had given birth to a pair of stillborn twins four years ago, and in a fit of rage, she burned down the DeRoss family and went into hiding.

Could the news be false?

As soon as he asked that question, he immediately realized something was wrong.

Because Haley's entire face turned cold.

She raised her gaze and said calmly, "Louis, you are my business partner, so I don't avoid talking about my children, but it doesn't mean you can pry into my privacy."

Her voice was cold, like the frost of autumn.

Without looking at Louis again, she turned and walked out of the office.

Louis let out a sigh of relief, muttering to himself, "This woman's gaze is too scary, she scared me."
