Chapter 341

Piano melodies wafted through the yard.

Haley held Todd's small hand and spoke softly, "Every child should have a father's company during their growing years. Look at Angela. Since she has a father, she laughs more than she has in the past four years..."
Before she could finish her statement, Todd interrupted her, "So, Mom, are you with Ivan just for my sister and me?"

Haley could tell by the look on the boy's face that he was once again heading down a dead end in his thoughts.

She stroked his hair and said, "No, it's not like that. I think Ivan is a really good, responsible man who loves kids."

Todd's expression grew stern.

How could a man who got two women pregnant at the same time be responsible?

How did he deserve to be the father of him and Angela?

Yet Todd had to admit, thanks to Ivan, that his sister's autism was almost completely healed.

"Mom, I support all your decisions," Todd said slowly, "and I'll always stand behind you."

...

It was nine o'clock at night.

Cuenca Airport was bustling with people coming and going.

Emily wheeled her luggage cart out of the airport, saying, "It's been what, two or three years since you last visited Cuenca?"

Her tone was very warm. "There have been many changes in Cuenca over these three years. The airport has been rebuilt and is now one of the most modern in the world. They've also built many new places to relax. After the birthday party, I'll take you out for a tour."

Mrs. Winston nodded. "I'll be staying in Cuenca for a while, so I'll be counting on you."

"How could it be a bother? It's my pleasure," Emily responded gracefully, a flash of confidence in her eyes.

She had stayed in Australia for three days, attending various events with Mrs. Winston, whose attitude towards her had warmed considerably from the initial coldness.

Gaining the favor of Mrs. Winston would secure her position within the Winston family.

"Madam, you're finally back. The sir and the kids have been missing you," Alfred greeted her respectfully, his expression suddenly changing. "Miss DeRoss?"

The lady had flown back from Australia, but why was she with Miss DeRoss?

Emily smiled. "Alfred, you don't recognize me after a few days?"

"Of course not," Alfred replied quickly, shaking his head, "Did Miss DeRoss also fly back from Australia?"

Mrs. Winston replied coolly, "Emily was performing abroad. We ran into each other, and she stayed with us for a few days in Australia. We came back together."

Alfred looked down, his gaze filled with suspicion.

Miss DeRoss hadn't been to the Winston family home for the past few days, and he thought she might have finally settled down. Unexpectedly, she seemed to have gone overseas to seek reinforcements.
Mrs. Winston had always looked down on Miss DeRoss. After all, having a child out of wedlock and then trying to use that child to marry into the prestigious Winston family was a ploy deeply frowned upon by high society...

However, as time went by, Miss DeRoss refused to marry any other woman, and Mrs. Winston felt compelled to arrange a match between her husband and Miss DeRoss...

Later on, Mrs. Winston rarely returned to the country, and the issue eventually fizzled out...

Mrs. Winston and Emily climbed into the car, with Alfred driving in front. He was distracted by troubling thoughts.

He had heard from Owen that Mr. Winston and Haley Emily were dating, and if Mrs. Winston found out, the Winston family might face unrest.

"Aunt, look over there. That's the new art gallery. It's nearly ten thousand square feet and houses over half of the world's art treasures. Next time, I'll take you on a tour".
