He thought, 'Is it really possible for two people to sound so alike? If Leonardo is really Ivan, why didn't he seem surprised when he saw me and Todd?'
Keith thought he must have been mistaken.
Keith missed Ivan so much that he hoped Leonardo was his dad, right?
Keith forced back his tears and said in a hoarse voice, "Our father's name is Ivan. Ever heard of him?"
Leonardo was stunned.
Ivan.
Why did that name sound familiar?
Where was it? In a dream or somewhere else?
For a moment, Leonardo couldn't place it. He said indifferently, "I'll give you the list of recent recruits first."
His fingers flew over the keyboard.
Keith glanced over and saw Leonardo's scarred knuckles, old wounds mixed with new ones.
Ivan's fingers were clean, long, and slender—nothing like this.
So, Keith must have been wrong.
Keith lowered his head. "Remember to destroy it after reading." Leonardo handed over a hard drive.
Todd took the hard drive and pocketed it, saying seriously, "Thank you, Mr. Windsor."
Leonardo smirked. "No need to thank me. You guys have helped me too."
Just then, an elderly man in a black robe strode into the living room, mumbling, "Leonardo, how did you know I've been looking for kids everywhere lately? These two boys look great, thank you!"
Hearing this, Keith didn't have time to be sad. He quickly shielded Todd behind him.
Keith and Todd stared warily at the elderly man.
"Quillan, next time, announce yourself or I'll have the guards throw you out," Leonardo said coldly. "These two kids are my friends. Don't get any ideas."
Quillan licked his lips, his sinister eyes fixed on Todd and Keith. "You know my health issues. The doctor said I need to eat the kidneys of ten boys to get better. Someone leaked this info, and all the boys in our area disappeared overnight. What am I supposed to do? My condition is worsening. If I don't find ten boys soon, I'll die."
Leonardo's fingers slowly clenched, his knuckles glowing a cold blue.
He said coldly, "The kitchen has already prepared it for you. I'll have the servants bring it out."
Suppressing his intense disgust, Leonardo waved at the servants.
Soon, they brought out a plate of fresh red kidneys.
"Leonardo, you're too good to me." Quillan sat down, using his hands to eat, grinning, "Very fresh. I feel better already. You prepared these for me. I don't know how to thank you."
Seeing this, Keith's hand trembled.
Todd whispered in H language, "Don't be afraid. Those are cow kidneys."
Leonardo's gaze swept over. He hadn't expected Todd to be so smart, recognizing it.
He said calmly, "Escort them back safely. If anything happens to them, you can go meet death."
"Yes, sir!"
The guards obeyed and escorted Todd and Keith out.
