Chapter279

"Haley hired the most renowned attorney in the country, Garrett. Jeremy stands no chance," Emily articulated. "Jeremy cares too much about his reputation. He might not even let it get to court."

Flora lounged on her chair, let out a scoff, and said, "If that's the case, why don't we just fan the flames? Force him to follow through with the lawsuit."

"We both think alike. I already got some photos taken. I'll send them to you," Emily said with a laugh. "Work your magic, but keep yourself out of the spotlight. I'm abroad right now, so even if this blows up, Keith won't suspect me. It's all in your hands, Mom."

"Don't worry, Emily."

Flora scrolled through her phone, picture by picture, her face breaking into a grin of absolute confidence.

Meanwhile, across the ocean, in the brightness of the day, Emily was mingling at a banquet hall. She had just ended a call, taken a glass of wine from a passing server, and began making her way through the room.

"Ms. Emily, you look stunning today."

"Ms. Emily, you achieved such mastery at such a young age. You're surely going to be the next big thing in our country's piano world."

An up-and-coming pianist from the inner circle approached Emily, wine glass in hand, for a friendly chat.

Emily held herself with poise, her smile gracious. "I'm just a newbie. How can I compare with you, the truly gifted?"

"Being a student of Ms. Alice says it all about your exceptional talent. I envy you. Ms. Emily, I'm also from Cuenca. When we're back in the state, we should keep in touch. I have so much to learn about from you."

Emily naturally agreed, promptly adding a few new contacts to her phone.

Just as she finished, Alice approached. "Emily, come with me. I want to introduce you to Mr. Albert."

Those nearby heard and couldn't hide their surprise.

Albert, a legend in the world of pianists.

Decades ago, at only twelve, he was already the prodigious "Little Prince of the Piano" in Europe.

Over sixty years, Albert's fame only grew, turning him into a legend, an idol for all. Every piano student knew his name. He was a staple of basic piano textbooks, with many of his pieces incorporated into curriculums. He was an icon in the piano world whose live performance was as elusive as scaling the heavens.

No one expected Albert to appear at such an event.

Yet, Emily, a rising pianist, was privileged enough to be introduced to him.

Envious glances followed her every move.

Emily straightened up even more. Though Alice was a revered figure, Albert was the legend, the god in this pantheon.

If she could garner insight from Albert, her status upon returning home would surely ascend.

Her international tour was meant for just this. It was to add a layer of prestige to her career.

She was determined to speak with Albert.

"Mr. Albert happened to pass by. He was in the backstage lounge, and he must have seen your performance," said Alice with a gentle smile. "With approval from Mr. Albert, this trip of yours is a triumph."

Trying to contain her excitement, Emily replied, "Thank you, Ms. Alice. I'll make the most of this opportunity."

Alice nodded, and together, they moved toward the backstage area.
