Chapter 938
Hollis was crying her eyes out on the live stream, looking pitiful. Netizens were all over it, feeling sorry for her.
Sure, the Winston Group could try to keep the media quiet, but they couldn't shut up all the netizens.
Hollis went all out, buying a ton of accounts to push her stream to the top of the trending list. With all the comments rolling in, the online buzz just kept getting louder.
[Beating up an elder? That's just messed up!]
[Ms. Lumi always seemed so professional and tough in the news. Now she looks so helpless.]
[Haley probably felt bold enough to hit Hollis because of the Winston Group, right?]
[Wait, didn't she split up with Ivan?]
[There's always been talk about it, but no proof.]
Rumors were flying, and everyone had their own theory.
Haley's phone buzzed on the nightstand. Ivan saw the caller ID and picked up carefully, " Dad."
"Where's Haley?" Cauth sounded pretty urgent. "The online chatter is getting out of hand. Haley needs to clear things up, or else..."
"Don't worry, Dad," Ivan said, staying cool. "I got this."
Cauth sighed. "I found out Hollis insulted Haley and her late mom. That's why Haley snapped. She's got the moral high ground here and can set the record straight."
"Got it." After hanging up, Ivan's face turned icy. This was no small issue, so he wasn't gonna hold back.
He gently placed Haley's head on the pillow and stepped out to the balcony with his phone.
Outside, his voice was cold. "Put together a video of all the dirty stuff Hollis and Ava have done over the years. Send it to Hollis's email. If she doesn't turn the online opinion around in three hours, make the video public."
"Yes, sir!" His subordinate got right to work.
Ivan smiled coldly. When he turned around, he saw Haley's eyes open.
That icy smile melted away, replaced by a soft, tender look. "Haley, you've only been asleep for an hour. Why are you up already?"
Haley yawned, holding an earbud. "I heard you talking. Who was it?"
Ivan poured her a glass of warm water and handed her a pill. It was the medication the hospital prescribed to calm her down.
Haley swallowed the pill. Just as she was about to ask more, she heard car engines outside the villa.
She walked to the balcony and looked down, seeing seven cars pulling up at the entrance.
She recognized the people getting out—they were the parents of her kids' classmates from kindergarten.
The party was supposed to go until 7 PM. It wasn't even dark yet.
Haley fixed her hair, threw on a trench coat, and headed downstairs.
"Leo, we're going home."
"Lily, let's go. Time to head out."
A bunch of wealthy moms stood at the villa's entrance, calling for their kids.
