Chapter 679
The airport was bustling with people.
Haley followed Martin directly into the VIP lounge.
As soon as Martin entered, Katherine's panicked voice came from inside. "Martin, are you really going to send me away? Tell me this isn't true! Martin, I love you so much. I don't want to leave; I'd rather die than leave you! Please give me another chance!"
Katherine rushed over and grabbed Martin's arm. She was about to continue pleading when she saw Haley walk in behind him.
Haley, dressed in a black trench coat, exuded a sharp aura.
She said coldly, "Katherine, please let go of my husband."
Katherine's hand trembled, her face full of grief and anger. "He's not your husband, he's Martin, he's..."
"Shut up!"
Martin's face showed disgust as he coldly rebuked her.
Katherine immediately burst into tears.
Haley casually tucked her hair behind her ear. "Martin, step outside for a moment. I want to talk to Katherine alone."
Martin frowned disapprovingly. "She's a bit hysterical. I don't feel comfortable leaving you alone with her."
"If you're here, she'll always think she has a chance to stay." Haley touched Martin's arm. "Just give me ten minutes."
Martin looked down and saw Haley's fair fingers resting on his arm.
Her fingers were round and pink, softening his heart inexplicably.
Martin patted Haley's hand and said hoarsely, "I'll be right outside the door. Call me if you need anything."
He turned and walked out, taking Robert and the other two bodyguards with him.
At the door, Robert glanced back at Haley warily.
Last time at the hospital, Haley had sent Martin away and then hypnotized Katherine.
With the lesson from last time, how could Martin feel comfortable leaving Haley and Katherine alone together?
But it was Martin's order, and despite his doubts, Robert didn't dare to speak out.
The door to the lounge closed.
Haley chuckled and sat down on the sofa. "Katherine, I advise you to leave Watertown obediently and never come back."
"Haley, does this make you feel good?" Katherine said through gritted teeth. "Martin killed Ivan and took everything from him. You should hate him. How can you act like nothing happened and stay with him? How can you do this to Ivan, to your four kids?"
"I did love Ivan very much, but he's dead. The dead can't come back to life, so what can I do?" Haley laughed self-deprecatingly. "Martin looks exactly like Ivan. I can pretend the person I love is still alive, and that gives me the courage to keep going. So, Katherine, please don't disturb our lives anymore."
