Scenes from the past three years zipped through Camilla's mind.
Samantha was always super nice to her, even though she was just the adopted daughter. Whatever Nicole had, she got too.
Her room was just as big as Nicole's, with all the same stuff.
She often wondered if she really deserved all this kindness from Samantha.
It was Samantha's motherly love that made Camilla stick around with the Jenkins Family. For now, she had no plans to leave. But today's incident was just too much.
"You don't like Bradley, so I had to set up another marriage for you. Brady might be a bit wild, but he's got a good heart," Samantha's voice shook a bit, but she kept going. "If you marry Brady, he wouldn't dare mistreat you with me around."
Camilla chuckled, "Mom, did you ask Grandma, Elara, or even Brady himself?"
With Samantha staying quiet, Camilla went on, "You set this up without anyone's consent. Have you thought about what happens if Elara gets mad? She doesn't think I'm good enough for him. Your actions could tear the Jenkins Family apart."
"Camilla, it's not that serious."
Samantha's lips trembled.
Patrick was on board with this. As long as Patrick and Sawyer agreed, the marriage would go through. Elara's opinion wouldn't matter.
"Besides, you're so amazing and capable. How could you not be good enough for Brady?"
Camilla had lost interest in the conversation.
Samantha's motherly love was weird, and today's setup was even weirder. She didn't want to dig any deeper.
"Mom, I'm moving out tomorrow," Camilla said calmly, "Of course, you'll still be my parents. That won't change just because I move out."
Samantha was stunned.
Just then, Micah hurried over from the banquet hall, looking worried, "Aunt Samantha, where are Uncle Patrick and Grandma?"
Samantha stopped talking and asked, "Micah, why are you in such a rush? What's going on?"
"The police are here to take my dad for questioning!" Micah was so anxious he was sweating. He quickly rushed into the lounge to find Odette. "Grandma, something's up!"
Odette quickly walked out. "Calm down. What exactly happened?"
"A year ago, the Jenkins Family initiated a wind power project. Now, the project is facing significant difficulties. As the person responsible, the police want to interrogate him," Micah said, trying to stay calm. "The one coming to arrest him is Police Chief Garrett Collins, who you know."
The banquet hall was already in chaos.
Odette's 80th birthday party had a lot of important people. Even though the party was almost over, many guests were still there.
