Chapter 630

Haley tossed the paper into the shredder and then swept it into the trash can.

She was contemplating an excuse to go to the Winston Group tomorrow when she heard the sound of a car coming from the villa's yard.

Without even putting on her slippers, Haley walked barefoot to the balcony. She lifted the curtain, and peeked outside.

She saw the familiar black car and the familiar figure stepping out of the car.

Ivan was back.

And he even had a bunch of flowers in his hand.

Haley's eyes sparkled; she quickly walked back to the bedroom, then poured some water on her hand from the bedside table.

Before long, footsteps slowly approached.

The door was gently opened by Martin.

Looking through the crack in the door, Martin saw Haley sitting on the edge of the bed with her head down, holding tissues in her hand, wiping tears of her eyes.

And there was already a pile of used tissues on the bedside table; it seemed that she had been crying for a long time.

Martin coughed forcefully twice.

Haley, as if startled, raised her head and then threw the pillow at him forcefully. "Get out!"

Martin caught the pillow.

He looked at Haley in front of him, her eyes red and wet, tears continuously falling...

He had always thought Haley only had a tough and cold side, never expecting that she could also be sad, that she could cry, that she could feel sorrow.

Martin's heart felt a twinge.

Martin pushed the door  and walked in, handing the roses hidden behind him to Haley. "Alright, don't be angry. I bought you flowers to apologize. Forgive me, okay?"

Haley's gaze fell on the flowers, a hint of disgust in her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it.

She used tissues to hide the emotions in her eyes, then she bit her lip, and said with a hint of grievance, "Do you think a bouquet of flowers is enough to dismiss me? Do you think you can make me forget everything that happened? Ivan, you are really insulting!"

Haley picked up another pillow and threw it again.

For some reason, Martin suddenly liked this side of Haley. She was lively and temperamental, like a flower blooming in autumn.

Martin caught the pillow, slowly walking to the edge of the bed, and sat down next to Haley.

His voice was hoarse. "Nothing happened between me and Katherine, and we won't meet again in the future. What do you want me to do for you to forgive me?"

Martin's hot breath sprayed on Haley's face, she almost couldn't control herself from turning away.

She took a deep breath. "You really won't see Katherine again?"

"Really, I absolutely won't see her again." Martin held her hand. "I was wrong during this time. I will live well with you."

Those days of living on the edge, in darkness, filled with anxiety, he no longer wanted them.

Martin yearned for stability, light, and warmth.

Even if those things didn’t truly belong to him, he still wanted to possess them in his desperate and dishonorable way...

Martin's hand slowly moved up from Haley's wrist, gently grasping her shoulder, massaging it with varying pressure.

And the other hand slowly moved down from her back, stroking her waist, slowly approaching her hips.

A strong sense of repulsion surged from Haley's stomach.

Without thinking, Haley suddenly stood up, her knee hitting the bedside table, and the water glass shattered into pieces.

For Martin's palm suddenly felt empty, his face instantly darkened.

Although Martin had lived like a hyena for so many years, he had always been the leader among hyenas, never lowering himself to coax anyone.

This was his first time buying flowers, apologizing... and yet, this woman still dared to reject him!

The cold aura emanated he exuded was unrestrained.

Haley clenched her fists tightly.
