Chapter 490

Haley sat on the couch looking at the company's documents, but she couldn't read a single word.

She glanced at her watch from time to time, watching the time ticking away second by second. The appointed time was approaching, and she was getting more and more nervous.

Just then, a message came in on her phone.

She was startled and sat up straight, took a deep breath, and then opened the chat box.

[Sorry Haley, there was a sudden accident today, I'll come to pick you up later, the time is uncertain.]

Haley's heart was instantly filled with disappointment.

Although she had been very nervous, she had to admit that she was looking forward to this date.

She really wanted to know what this man would say to her. It seemed like she was destined to wait in vain.

She pursed her lips and sent a message back: [I also have work to do, let's meet later.]

After sending the message, she sighed helplessly.

Originally, she didn't care about this matter, but this man had made her restless.
Just as she put down her phone, a call came in.

Thinking it was Ivan calling, she answered without looking.

"Are you a friend of this phone's owner? He's drunk at our bar, and you're the first contact we found, can you come and settle the bill for him?"

Haley moved the phone away from her ear, looked at the caller ID, and her face turned dark.

Thomas!

It was that unreliable jerk again!

She took a deep breath and said, "Send me the address, I'll come right away."

After hanging up, she changed into a neat outfit and drove to the bar.

As soon as her car left the villa, a black sports car followed behind her. With no traffic lights along the way, Haley drove straight to the bar's entrance. She parked her car, walked into the bar, and immediately saw Thomas passed out on the bar counter.

She walked over and kicked Thomas's knee. "Get up!"

"Who kicked me?"

Thomas suddenly sat up straight, looked around blankly, and then fell back onto the bar counter.

Haley was speechless.

She swiped her card at the counter, then helped Thomas out.

"I'm not drunk, I still want to drink."

Thomas turned around and tried to go back into the bar.

Haley kicked his knee. "Behave yourself, or I'll leave you on the street to sleep for the night!"

"Haley, you came to pick me up, right?" Thomas grinned. "Haley, you heartless person, I've been so good to you these years, how can you not like me! I'm ten thousand times better than Ivan, I'm more handsome than him, richer than him, why don't you choose me, why did you choose that person. Why?"

Haley fell silent for a moment.

She had made it clear to Thomas when he last visited Watertown that she thought he had moved on. She didn't expect him to still remember.

Originally, she was planning to take Thomas home to spend the night, but now it seemed that she couldn't do that anymore.

She had someone else in her heart, she couldn't send the wrong signal to Thomas anymore, nor could she let Ivan misunderstand.
