Chapter 822 Diagnosis
Owen felt that Daddy's possessiveness over Mommy was truly terrifying.
"Alright, you guys go on your date," Owen said, waving his hand reluctantly, "Mommy, please bring me back something tasty."
Angela blinked her eyes and said, "Daddy, you have to protect Mommy. We'll be waiting for you to come back."
The four children stood at the villa's entrance, watching Haley and Ivan leave.
The car headed straight to the hospital.
Some hospitals are not open at night, but Ivan had called ahead and made an appointment with the best doctor there.
Haley underwent various tests and then showed the reports to the doctor.
The doctor carefully reviewed the four or five test reports, "The reports don't show any major issues. Your situation is medically termed as transient memory loss, which will gradually disappear over time but can become more severe with age. Generally, symptoms become more noticeable after the age of forty."
Haley barely understood that this symptom was normal and would gradually improve.
Ivan pressed his lips and asked, "The personality she exhibits during those temporary memory losses is vastly different from her usual self, almost like two completely different people. This doesn't seem to be explained by transient memory disorders."
"If that's the case, a visit to the psychiatry department might be necessary," the doctor suggested seriously.
Emerging from the hospital, Haley wore a complex expression. "Ivan, do you think I might have schizophrenia?"
Could that explain her sudden personality changes and the loss of those memories?
"Don't overthink it," Ivan whispered, holding Haley tightly. "You've been under a lot of stress since my recent incident, and now that things have calmed down, your mind might be struggling to adapt. That's why the doctor said you'll be fine in a while. Just don't put too much pressure on yourself, and you'll get through this."
Haley nodded gently, leaning into his chest. "With you here, I'm not afraid of anything."
Ivan lightly stroked her soft hair.
Haley had been to Hinterlands, a place where all sorts of dirty deeds could be found. He worried that she might have been targeted by someone there.
He would need to find a doctor from Hinterlands to examine Haley and figure out what was really going on.
But he would have to do it discreetly to avoid adding any more stress to Haley's plate.
The night passed quietly, and when the curtains were drawn open the next morning, Haley's eyes were stung by the brightness. It had snowed heavily during the night.
The entire yard was blanketed in snow, and the trees were laden with snowflakes. Everywhere she looked, there was only white snow, creating a beautiful scene.
Haley pushed the balcony window open a crack, reached out to grab a handful of snow, and then climbed back onto the bed, slipping it into Ivan's neck.
"Little mischief!"
Ivan pulled her into his arms and pinned her down.
"Starting trouble so early in the morning? Are you trying to get punished on purpose?"
"Stop kissing me, it tickles!" Haley squirmed away from his lips. "I'm sorry, really sorry. Why don't you put snow in my neck too?"
"You know I can't bear to do it," Ivan said, planting a kiss on her cheek. "It's too cold today with the snow. Why don't you skip the banquet?"
"It's a pre-arranged recognition banquet. I can't miss it," Haley said, nestling lazily in his arms. "It's still early, let me rest for a bit."
She closed her eyes for a light nap, but Ivan's hands were restless, wandering over her waist.
Haley swatted him away. "Stop it."
She needed to save her energy for the upcoming banquet with the Lumi Family. It was going to be a mentally taxing event.
